I dident bring any camera with me today so I cant show you any pictures from todays session. But anyways there would be not to meny advanced tricks. I dident want to dip my head at all so i dident try any crazy stuff. But it finally looks like the summer is coming and the season of kiting is on. Next step is to get a nice litle video camera so we can start to shoot some videos. Last year they stole mine in Tarifa so now its time to get a new one.

So after a fiew tacks in the water and some jumps the session ended one and a half our later. Nothing serius but my feet was compleatly white when i came back and no feeling in them. So next time i will use boots. Gloves and hoddie and go full on for the fun stuff haha.

A day at the Nobile factory.

On my way to Greece( Prasonisi). I had a small pit stop in the Nobile office and fabric. First flight to Warsaw and then a train to Bielsko Biala not sure that is the right spelling. Anyways the train was nice and you get free snacks and drinks on it that would never happen in Sweden! And finally at the office I meet the owner and the rest of all the working personal over there and some of them I know from last visit and then I meet some new faces also. It’s nice to be there and see what is really going on with everything. And the best part of all how they make the boards and specially the 50/50 J I will upload some pictures from the factory latest tomorrow. And there you can see step bye step how I make the 50/50 board.

I will also upload my video from Prasonisi I have made a small clip from there. Too bad I didn’t get the best moves on the cam but next time J this just shows you how nice the spot is.

So back to the Office on the pictures you will also be able to see how hard I was working.

And right now I’m typing from the Airport in Rhodes. Our flight is delayed until 17:00 and we were supposed to fly around 12:00. The plane hasn’t left Poland yet so I think it will be a while before we can go onboard. The good thing here is that the internet is for free and there is something to do while we are waiting. I wonder why is this happening to me lately all the time delays and problems. O well have to be happy anyway right.

Prasonisi (Rhodes)

This is the first time for me here in Prasonisi. I must say I really expected the town to be a bit bigger. I’m not even sure you can call it a town, there are like 4 or 5 houses and all of them are hotels or restaurants. So the area here is very small but on the other hand very nice and quiet.

The kite spot are very nice you have a sand bar between Rhodes and Prasonisis. Not sure but anyways the only thing keeping the two islands together so you have a huge beach. You have to be careful there are some big wood bricks and sticks lying around in the sand. Off the beach into the water you have no rocks anywhere it’s just sand it’s great. The wind is light in the morning and gets stronger during the day. So you also have a flat side and then a wavy side to kite on. I tried both and it seems I get dragged to the flat side most days. You also have some wind and kite centers on the beach. And a small van witch pretty nice sandwiches and hamburgers.

I would say its sunny every day but then I would be lying. The day after we arrived in the morning when I woke up it was raining outside. Hmm I thought okay this might be normal but it wasn’t at this time of the year. So anyways after that we had only sunny days so it’s all good.

So far we have had wind every day. And I have been out all days so far and now you feel all the sore muscles I was saying gymnastic gave you sore muscles well now it’s back. But we only have like 2 days left now so I will take any breaks. I will probably sleep as well tonight as all the other nightsJ

I guess most of you have heard about the ashes from the volcano on island. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to fly to Poland or I would have to take the boat, train or something ells to get here. But the flights are all back up going again. All airports in Sweden where closed at one point for about a week ago.

Not going in to that anymore and the flight are short from Malmö to Warsaw about 1,5h.

Then I had to take the train to come to Bielsko Biala not sure if I’m spelling this right J

So anyways finally here at the factory and it’s cool to be here to see everything how it is working from step 1 until you have the product ready.

What I have been up to sins I came back from Australia. I have been working on my home 24/7 building storage rooms. Setting in windows in the terrace I did build last year and also a lot of other fixing in the house. Now most of it is done so I can just wait for the wind to pick up and go kiting :D It have been very cold up until yesterday and the water is temp must have been under 7 degrees. The other night it was +-0 degrees again.

And for the last 3 weeks i have also been training flips and twists in the gymnastic hall.

That is so much fun and every mussel hurts after the first trainings because you never really use them until you start flipping around haha.

So I’m very much looking forward to see Rhodos is a new spot for me. And I heard its flat and nice at where we are going. I’m also going to it down now and put a small video together from Australia just have to find a good editing program. My adobe premiere isn’t working anymore.

Last days of the competition. (Thailand Hua Hin)

All the riders were also invited to a privet house party. When i saw the house i did not believe it, it was like you see in all the movies big house big pool with a massive gym and of course a cinema. And the house was huge think you could fit like 400 people there without problem: D Very nice of the owner to invite all of us thank you!

So the days have been running bye and it’s the last day of the competition and the wind is still not too good. But of course like always when there is a little bit of wind last day and if they have the slightest chance to finish the competition in the worst conditions ever they will run it and they do not give a dam if it is unfair to allot of the riders. For example the riders that are about 80 kg most likely can’t go upwind with a 14m kite. And of course the guy who is about 65-70 kilos can still go on a 12m kite and stay upwind. Tell me if I’m wrong. So how much chance does the rider have against the light rider? Let me tell you zero! And the one responsible to see if the wind is suitable are the race director he is the man with the power to start and finish the competition whenever he thinks it’s good or not good. Obviously in this crap conditions there are going to be complains. And the good explanation the riders get is maybe you need to trim your kite better. Or take a bigger size. And of course also starting to say that all the judges are agreeing it is suitable. I can’t believe he could not take the responsibility himself he has been working for the tour for like 7 or 8 years or even more I’m not sure. So anyways you get screwed this way and he doesn’t give a dam. I guess it’s too bad for some riders, thy are just too heavy! It’s so sad you spend over thousands of euros to go to the events.

So the wind isn’t good but we still have to go out and of course you try your best and its possible to pull off some tricks witch are like 1m high :D Anyways i will go into my heat I did about 8-10 tricks i think and was not happy with any of them. I had to send the kite to 12 every jump and also felt like i didn’t pop at all was just using the force of the kite more less to get up in the air. I ended up losing the heat against Roberto Rondina.

Other than that the comp the rest was very good organized. I was surprised how good it was; also for being the first time he ever held an event it was good and professional.

So tomorrow i will head off to Australia Perth again!

So back to the first day of the registration. The event site is big here I think they have made a great job building up a lot of stuff on the beach. Loads of tents with food, massages and other stuff. All the riders we have our own tents as well that is nice. The first 3 days they cocked the food for the riders on the spot. That was amazing but then they started with boxes and it’s not the same.

So before the main event started there was an armature freestyle event for the Asians and 4 of the top winners made it in to the main event of the men’s and 2 of the women.

The freestyle started off with good wind about 18-25 knots. And it’s always interesting to see the first event of the year and see how much everyone has progressed. You don’t feel too much of a different but some riders definitely have been learning more stuff than others.

To the competition my first heat was suppose to be against Bubman. But he decided not to do any freestyle in the last minute and so I had a bye in my first heat. And second heat I was up against Reno Romeu. I start off the heat good with 2 tricks on same tack going towards the beach. And on my way out I was going to do one of my easiest tricks the one I always land more less and obviously I missed it and crashed. After I relaunch the kite I turn back to the beach to do it again and I land it very badly not feeling too good about it I continue and pull off another trick. And after that I felt like I was more in the water with my butt than over. So after the heat I was not happy at all. I was sure I lost I just knew I did. But some people n the beach told me nahh it was close. And on the notice board later it says that I won. Wow did I get a smile on my face again. It just shows that even if you feel its going bad in the heat never give up just go for it till the end.

So now I’m up against the top5 in the world Andy Yates. I know I need to land all my tricks and also the hard stuff to make this round. I didn’t do the heat I was hoping for but it was ok I was still happy with it. I lost and this will put me in the 9^th place in the double elimination. So tomorrow I will be fighting my way up and hopefully I can climb the ladder to the end!

Kiting at Woodman Point!

Also after a long time at home not doing to much the kiting felt very very unstable. But i knew i just need a week or so in the water and ill be back to where I left off last. So first day it’s easy to get angry when you don’t nail all your tricks :)

And to warm up before the session helps allot from hurting yourself like i was so smart went out and didn’t warm up at all and of course i stretched my arm a bit. You see if you warm up properly this would not happen so easy.

After few days the kiting where getting better but now i had pain almost everywhere my whole body was sore more less hehe, So a few days of rest would be nice. But its hard to rest when the wind is out there. Anyways i had one day of rest and then back in the water.

Also we had some time to take some photos of the session at woddies so i will post them tonight after another kite session.

We also made a road trip and I will write all about it within next days.

Finally in Perth and talk about feeling relived. But now we have the next problem. We need a car and then we need a house to stay in. So from our last visit we felt that the car was the first priority. Because without the car we can’t drive around and look for different places. One thing was lucky it that a friend from Russia was in Perth already so he could come and pick us up from the train station in Perth. And also we had a place to stay for 2 days or so because the people who was in their house just left and the once coming where still not there so we had a spare room for us. And also they had internet in the house so we were looking all day for the car and we were calling all day on to different sellers but ether no answer or they were sold already. Finally we found one and it was already evening and getting late. But we meet up with the guy and we decided to take it. The car does not look good at all it has scratched and pumps on every side of the car. But well it was running good so the deal was off and I also managed to get the price down a bit on it. Normally if you want just any car its easy to find but we needed a bigger one because we where going to be four people and full of kites. So after the deal and the car was in our hands. We went back to the Russians and dinner was served. That was exactly what we needed after a looong day of search.

So next up is the house. We sit all day looking on internet and calling people but everything is rented out or you had to take a lease for at leas 12months. Great a whole day we sat and look and called and nothing. I wasn’t so stressed about it but Frida was getting nerves. Sins our two friends was coming as well in a few days we needed a place for all of us not only our self’s. So to find only one room was not to hard but to find one house with more than one room free was way harder. Some people even said I don’t think you can find anything within one month. But I knew something would show up. So after finding nothing after a whole day of search and talking to everyone on the beach, still nothing. And in the evening Frida wanted to meet her good friend from Sweden that was here in Perth for a year working. So we went down to see her and she showed us a big table with adds on it at a university in Perth. And there were 4 houses with some rooms and we booked in for next day 3 visits. And finally we found a good spot for all of us and not too expensive. And so we are setteled and relaxed. And hopefully we will have good winds from now on,:D LAters!

One week to get to Australia ! ! !

So first off from Sweden. And everything looks good. The train is on time and there is no problem in the traffic there. Sometimes there are delays with the trains as well. So finally in Copenhagen’s airport Kastrup. And its not so crowded when we arrive that is always nice and we finally come to the check in for the first flight from Cph to London. And all the flights with British Airways from Cph have been canceled. But we get a new ticket with Sas but not at the same time a bit later and it’s not good for the connection we have in London because when i booked I didn’t book the ticket all the way to Perth. So I had one separate ticket just to London and then from London we had the rest to Perth. That means if we miss our connection in London we are screwed. But there was still 3h until our next flight even if we got a later flight. So I wasn’t worried at the time. But after we where suppose to board our plane and there were no gate set out it didn’t look to good anymore. But we still had some time even if the plane will be one hour late. But this dam plane was late 4hours. And obviously we missed the connection in London. Also before going on the plane to London we were thinking of just skip this &%¤T and go back home. But we still wanted to try and see if we were lucky and somehow out plane from London were late. But so was not the case and we ended up coming there at 23:00 and nothing was open to talk to anyone basically. And to check in to the hotel to then after 4-5h go back to the airport was no idea. So me and Frida we slept on the airport. We actually got some blankets to sleep with and some soft things for the floor.

So after a sweet nice night on the airport floor we went to the check in counter for our missed flight and there was no one. And our flight out from London was with air Mauritius. And there were no flights at all this day so there will not be anyone today. Perfect and we asked Sas if they could help and they said sure no problem. But when they checked our tickets and saw that they were not connected from Cph all the way to Perth they said sorry can’t help you. I asked them if anyone could and the only answer I got was nopp sorry. The only thing we could do was to buy new tickets and also ask air Mauritius. But wasn’t so easy to ask sins no one was there. So I got a number to Air Mau, and I tried to call a few time and it didn’t work no answer.

Also now we had no idea if we would make it so we were getting desperate to get hold of air Mau, so i started to call my friend at home and also my sister to try to find a number. But they didn’t answer straight away so we had no choice but to check in to a hotel. And try to find a number that actually worked to air Mau. Finally after a few hours i get some help from my friend with some numbers. And after half the day i got hold of someone from the Air Mau. And they said we had to go back to the airport in the morning to see if there where any free spots on the plane going out. So it seemed like we had a small chance now but we didn’t expect anything at all.

I forgot to tell you before also that why the plane was late to London was because they had a so called snow storm in London. And I said to Sas that it is third fault we missed our flight and they said yes but a huge BUT we did get you to your destination. And that you came late to it we are sorry for,, They were sorry!!! haha they can go and (&&%¤ them self’s! How can they say ye out fault and then say something ells well make sure you check everything before your flight and never book separate tickets if there are big snow storms in London :) It was snowing 4-6 cm of snow !!! Amazing !Kaoz

And the let me tell you walking around in London with only a hoddie in snow weather was not very warm! And the dam atm machines would not take Master cards! I could not believe it :D So me and Frida was walking around just to try to find a place that would take the dam card to get something to eat. And finally we found something after like 40 min in the cold MacDonald’s wow. At least they could handle the MasterCard! I think some restaurants and shops need some upgrades on their atms!

So next morning we are back at the airport. Standing first in line, to talk to the represenitives form air Mau. And after 2h we finally got to talk to someone and he said ahh you need to speak to my manager about it. hmm ok he said wait 5 min and he will be here. So after another hour of waiting he arrived and helped us. He didn’t ask for any connection tickets and just asked if we missed the plane because of the bad weather of course we missed it because of the bad weather! And he told us sorry today the plane is full. But he could put us on standby if someone didn’t show up we could go on. So we just had to wait for another 2h to see if someone didn’t show up.

And back after 2h, he said there are a plane that is going to miss this connection. So there where room on the plane. But e still had to wait until the check in closed. And we finally got our sets to Mauritius. And then we where suppose to get the tickets from there to Perth. But somehow in the mess we didn’t get any tickets to Perth only to Mauritius. Well anyways now we thought now we are on the way at least and they cant say no when we arrive there we have our tickets connected now.

So after the plane in Mauritius we didn’t make it through the immigration because we didn’t have an address. So we had to go to a transit desk and see if he could fix the ticket. The dude left without passports and tickets from London. He came back and said ok you can go out now and go to the office and pay the fee for missing the original flight. It wasn’t to bad but it was still expensive. But we had no choice. So we go some help form a local girl with the addresses and the immigration let us out. And at the office they checked for other possibilities’ to fly to Perth but it ended up there are no flights until 4 days from now. So we had 4 nice days in Mauritius. Not complaining about that but still was not even enough to unpack anything really.

So finally after the 4 days we where off to Perth. And finally there after a week we were so relieved that we arrived.

And so starts the next mission! Where are we going to stay and we need to buy a car.

Last day of the competition!

We are in the last day of the competition. The wind isn’t cooperating with us at all. The skippers meeting was at 9:00 and the wind wasn’t their yet. But we had to wait round to see if it would somehow pick up and be enough to finish the semi finals. So my heat today is against Tiger, And what I saw yesterday he was killing it in his heat so this was not going to be any easy heats to come to the final. So we wait around and the wind is slightly picking up and of course they want results and the riders for sure don’t want to be riding in crap conditions where you can barely lift your ass from the water. So anyways my heat is up in 15 min and I already heard some rumors that my competitor isn’t showing for the semi. Hmm I was like how can you miss out on that? And first I didn’t really believe it because I have heard these stories before. But as they said, he wasn’t showing up and I was kiting 7m for myself in the water. Quiet boring but still not complaining to have a bye into the final J

Well anyways after this heat. It was time for the next semi final with Peter and Jessie. The heat was close but I would still give it to Peter he was doing more tricks and harder. But anyways the heat got canceled in the last 30 seconds. Wow sometimes I wonder what they think I mean if you cancel a heat maybe it should be done in the middle of the heat not last seconds I mean you work 100% and after the full heat you are so tired. Anyways the decision is the race directors and we have to respect that. So after a while the wind is going more and more down. And it seems like we will not get anymore wind for the day and what will happen then is that all 4 left of us in the semi will end up as 1^st places. I really wanted the wind to pick up I was in the final alreadyJ but without wind they would not count it and there will be 4 winners. So I really wanted the wind to come but it didn’t look good at all. So I went back to the hotel room changed and went to eat some lunch with Peter. And just when we were about to get our pizzas they decided that they will start it in 15min. And then it was fast back to the room, and on with the cold wet suite.

And when I came back down the heat was already going with Peter and Jessie. And next heat was girls final I think and then it was men’s final. Well the heat got canceled again. And next up was girls final. So they could rest for another try. And the wind dropped again. And we were waiting around for a bit and suddenly the sun started to show up and the clouds where disappearing. And out of nowhere the wind started to blow up and we had enough wind to finally start the heat again. And so after the heat was done I was pretty shore Peter had it and most on the beach had the same opinion as me. He was doing switch tricks and also more powered. But it didn’t help Jessie won the heat and it was time for the final. I was hoping to meat Peter in this final we have always been talking about meeting up in the final and this time it was closer than ever. But didn’t happen he got kicked out one heat before and finished 3^rd. So now it was the last final of the year. It felt really good to make it all the way to the final and I now I had to give it 100%. So we are out there in the water the green flag goes up and I am far out next to the outer buy, I start with my first trick landing it good and seconds after I do another one and a 3^rd one and now I’m really close to the beach and I feel I have time for another one so I went for it again and stuck it. So I had already 4 tricks in one tack. It felt very good but wow did I get tired after just 4 tricks hehe yes indeed. But I gave all I had in every trick and I could feel it in the end of the heat I was starting to crash more and butt checking the tricks more. But it felt well when I went to the beach if I lost now then I would not be angry sins I knew I would not have kited any better I went out again. So we both land the kites and we both have no idea of who is winning it and then the race director comes up and he stands around for a while and asks do you want to know the result now ? I’m like common just out with it haha J we don’t want to suffer any more. So he said the winner iss iisss mmmm mmm mm ikke mmike. And I was so dam happy and so relived. Felt like a huge bag just dropped from my back and the biggest smile of course haha I cannot explain the great feeling but it is just so nice J

So I win my second KPWT event this year. one in Tarifa and now in Morocco. It feels great!!! And hopefully some new pictures will be uploaded from the event within next days.

We are in the 4^th day of the competition and so far not too much luck with the wind. The last 2 days we have had no wind at all and today looks like it will be the same. For me it has been good to recover. Before this competition I didn’t kite sins I was in Greece. And after one session I was completely sore more less everywhere in my body. So for the last two days I have been very happy that we didn’t have wind, so that I could recover. But now when we look at the forecast it doesn’t look god at all for the rest of the week. But as always the locals are saying its coming. So ok let’s trust the locals and hope we get some wind in the next days.

We have also been into the city and I think it is one of the closest cities I have even been to. It looks really ancient like it was 1400 something. Very cool with high walls around the city and the houses just so old and close to each other. If you ever played assassins creed on play station or Xbox it looks something like it.

The Moroccan people are very friendly with you and you don’t have to feel unsafe. You can also see a lot of poor people sitting round and hoping to get some coins while they are sticking out their hands. I guess it’s not easy to be a Moroccan.

Back to the beach after the skippers meeting this morning they told all the riders we would have a meeting discussing next year’s rules and if the riders wanted to change something. And they are planning to go golfing tomorrow if there is still no wind. I would love that Happy Gilmore full on J

So right now there is just a small breeze of onshore wind and the chances we get wind today is like 5% or something. So I will hit the gym now Alex forced me to it haha. Hopefully there will be more interesting news the next days.

Morocco kpwt event

So what i think was the best way to get here was to first drive to Gothenburg drop my car of at my friends place and them have them drive me to the airport. To leave the car at the airport costs a fortune. So early morning I leave and arrive around 12:00 in Agadir, At the travel agency in Sweden before I left I asked if the road is long from Agadir to Essuria where the competition is held. They told me nahh its not so far like one hour drive. Yahh sure after 2.5 h we are still on the road and still no signs to Essuria. Can also be because I was sleeping most of the way. But seriously the taxi driver was overtaking other cars, yes no problem but in the curves when u see absolutely nothing ,,, fuck that J I thought ok I go to sleep and if I wake up its all good.

So finally I arrive to the hotel and checking in went fast. So left my stuff there and went out to explore this new place. The beach here is wide and big very nice wind is slightly off shore where the event site is set up.

Registration where taking place somewhere at the Atlas hotel and i herd something about someone important was stuck at the airport customs. So i guess there will be a small delay for the registration.

But it was not so late. And after that i felt like it was time for dinner. And guess where we ended up. Yes pizza,,,,

Paros Greece!

The trip here we did in a privet plane. You know the small one with 6 seats and propeller. It must have been a good flight sins i was sleeping all the way. The only time i woke up was when it was bumping a bit just be fore we came to Paros.

Also when we arrived we went straight to the Paros Kitecenter. And they had barbecue and everything waiting for us. And i love Greek food loads of satziki or how u spell it and good meat :)

The wind was strong and good. They told me the wind was even stronger in the daytime so i was happy it was perfect now. Tomorrow we are expecting about 40knots they are telling me lets see i would prefere if it stats a bit under that :)

The temp is good and its enogh with a 3-2 mill wetsuite. Water is really salty so ill try not to drink to much of it. We are going to do alot of shooting from here so shud be good. I also have the pictures from Egypt coming up tomorrow sorry for the late delay there :) But they are on the way up ^^ cya on the water!

Colona watersports in Egypt!

The last few days has been amassing. It was a very long time ago sins i had this good conditions. I have been out on my 9m NHP and the wind is strong and steady and then we have the famous sand bar and behind its super flat like a mirror:) Someone told me the sand bar was long gone but nope its still here for sure! Just need to time the low tide :)Bengan told me its always like this in July and August. Damn have i missed something. So anyways the days i have been on the water here iv had my best sessions in very long time and landing the kgb to blind haven't been to hard. I have it on pictures and video so i will post it very soon for you on my page. The last time i got a good one on video i think it was in Australia. And now also in slow motion. I also have allot of nice pictures from the new boards for 2010 and will post everything within the next days. Forecast is looking good for the next days and my plan is before i leave Egypt i will land this dam kgb to pass(kgb 7) i think its called something like that. I have been trying it for a while and I¨m so close that it is so /&%%# close. now its time to rest have some good food at the buffe well its eatable :) ciao for now

Israel the Lake Galilei

This is the second time i am in Israel. Last time was about a month ago.

When i was here last month i was her for testing and we didn't do much more than that.

The wind was up every day and in the evening you just had enough. SO i was hoping for the same good conditions this time.

But first 2 days the wind was very gusty and it shut off after 1h or so. The only good day so far was yesterday. Today

it doesn't seems like we will have any wind but it can still kick in.

One of the things that i really like with Israel Is that the people here are so nice and friendly.

They welcome you like you have been friends for 10 years and invite you to their home for dinner

and if you need anything they help you straight away. The spot where we kite at the Galilei sea is called diamond beach.

Well you might not like the beach its full of rocks, bring flip flops for the kite launch :) And stay in the water...

Right now its super hot, not sure how much but about 40 degrees if there is no win.

The water is the warmest i have ever been in lest say about 29-30c in the water.

The wind is normally so you can go out on a 10m kite. But last days have been light.

One morning we went to a secret lake somewhere in between the mountains its amazing to see

all around its just desert and in the middle f nowhere there is this lake.

And there is so you can jump from the cliffs the highest point is 23m high. I went up there

to take a look and yes its dam high. Maybe i will jump it, but not today :)

The wind this morning isen't as strong as yesterday. If seems like there is enought wind for big sizes kites.

And regarding to the forecast the wind is supose to drop so a quick start will proberbly hapen today.

After the meeting it was time to sourt out the seeading and we do this with everyones name on a small

peace of paper. SO its a lottery where you come on the ladder unless you are top 12 and pre seeded.

So there are only 3 spots left now and my name hasent come up and there it comes my first heat is vs Pastor and he is seaded nr 3.

So this will be a tough heat to pass. Anyways i will do my best and we will see what will happen.

The heats are on and im in the 3rd heat. The first heat gets canseld. After 15 min they try again and in more less same condition they dont

cansel i this time. Second heat same thing not really good at all but they still run it trought, Now its time for me and pastor and sins the wind

is very lght i try to go as much upwind as i can before the heat. Heat is on and on my 14m I cant say i was very powerd up but i could still

pull some tricks off like slim, front mobe , kgb , blind judge, switch frontmobe and a 313. And 2 in left of the heat they decided that the

conditions are not good enought so they cansel it. So pastor is on his 12m kite and and really cant do any tricks and they cansel it? i thought

it ws part of the competition to use the right size kite. Well we will have to see tomorrow how the heat will end up becourse that was the end of

freestyle today and they started to prepare or the racing witch after 45 min the wind droped and there where not even wind for the racers.

he rest of the day we where just taking it easy and waiting to get released by the race director.

Germany day one and Trails!

The trip from sweden to S.T Peter Ording was easy this time with my own car :) So the ride was about 5h long

and perfect timing for the inscription.

SO this will be my 2ond Pkra event this year. The first one was in France and the one in Fuerteventura last

weeak i was in Israel.

So day one of the comp and then sins i dident do Fuerte i dont have enought points to be top 12 and that

puts me in the position that if there are more than 32 people that want to compete i will have to do trails.

So this started today at about 11:00. The wind seemd to be good for a 12m kite at the moment. I pumped all my kites anyway

you never know if the wind will drop or pick up. Also back to the riders we had about 40 riders in total so everyone

not in the top 12 has to do the trials. The heats look a bit different than to the main event. In the first round we are

3 people in one heat whoever wins the heats qualiefies directly to the main event, and for the ones that loose they go

to the second round and whoever looses the second time wount make it. The ones that wins go to the main event as well.

So you still have the second chanse to make it and makes it more fare for everyone.

My heat was the last one in the first round and that was heat nr 11. The wind picked up after the first 2-3 heats and now

it was time to use a smaller sise kite. So i went out on my 9m Nhp. The heat was on and i had two other competitors

to win over if i wanted to make it straight to the main event. Well the start was not even close to good, first jump i

tried to do a front mobe and missed the bar in full speed i slamed into the water and after me the kite went down even harder.

I thought damn now the valvue opend and the air will go out, but its was still ok,,, pheew. Anyways i relaunched it and went

for the next move and a choop cought my leg so instead of an technical trick i ended up doing a backroll. Well now i was geting

a bit agrovated and next jum i told myself donot mess this up. Well this time a small choop again cought me and i did a front roll

haha,, well i had to get my anger out now and skreeamed a bit in the water dont know if anyone heard me 'hope not :)

But after this i started to land some tricks, and no more crashes for the rest of the heat luckly. I landed mobe, front mobe,

blind judge, 313, kgb and duble front to pass in the end. And with this i won the heat and im in the main event.

Even bofore the trails was over they anounced that the main event wount hapen today because the high tide will be very high and

they where expekting alot of water coming in over the beach and fill the whole event site with water. I think i can get a

nice picture from this to show you what i mean.

There is a big parking on the beach and to get out from there you had to drive trought the water that have filled in from the see.

The water when i left wasent to deeap but if you stayed there for to loong it might be very bad for the car. Im happy i dident

have to get stuck out there. Tomorrow skippers at 10:00 and i think they com will start about 11:00 if the wind conditions are

good enough for freestyle.

early for us is 8:00 sharp or at least for me it is. Anyways a lot of stuffneeds to get on the boat so after loading everything on the boat we where off.And well yes I spotted the best place to sleep on and I was out for 1h or so. Someonewoke me up and told me the wind is coming so off to the beach pump some kitesand have them ready but the kite would barely fly so I went back to the boat. Thewind didn’t look promising at all so back to sleep. And then someone tells meagain wind is up it thought it was going to be mirror meaning no wind at all.But I was wrong the wind had picked up and it actually looked good. So we wereabout to eat lunch but there was no time ,off into the dinghy to the sandbar.And wow the wind is good for the 11m N62. I had one of my best session in Egyptso far right at this spot. I don’t know the name of it but if you ever go to EgyptYou need to go here if you lake flat water and its flat for 2km if not even more.So we got a lot of good shoots and allot of video done in that session. And inthe beginning I thought I thought we went out for nothing but so wrong, younever know what the wind will do. And this time we just timed it perfectly.

Day 2 of Freestyle.

So this morning it still looked like it would besuper cold like yesterday. But after one hour the sun started to stick out formthe clouds and it suddenly got warmer.

This was the best thing now you can actuallywalk on the beach without having to freeze so much.

Anyways first heat up today was against an Frenchrider. I don’t remember his name but I think it was close heat. Next heat is against Chitshoffer sorry for the spelling I’m not sure its right but anywayswe have a very close heat as well and I got judged out by 3.2 decision so I endedup n17th in this comp.

Not to proud of my performance here in Francebut the conditions are very very hard 40knots + and cold and so on its not easyto do anything really most heats people do 3-5 passes that’s it. And when itsgood conditions people do 15+ tricks, So it’s hard and of course its same foreveryone.

So now it’s time to go back home train harderand get ready for next event.

France 1st Day of Freestyle!

So today we also had abad injury one of the French riders early in the freestyle somehow landed withhis head on the edge of the board. I don’t know how serious it was but therewas allot of blood and he cut his face all open over the lip and under. Andthis is the worst injury we had in the PKRA sins it started they say.

Also after thiseverything god postponed. And we had a vote if we should continue thecompetition o0r stop it for the day. So the VP of pkra comes with the greatidea to ask the riders what they want. They give us 3 different options.

1 continue the comp rightaway in 10 min.

2 have a pause for 2hand then start

3 cancel for the day andstart tomorrow

so if we where 40 ridersstanding there 36 of us voted for option number 3.

And wow suddenly theyhad to discuss this option. Of course they wanted to continue it already fromthe start. And why the frack even bother to ask the riders and give us the 3options if they already have decided???????

this is just great, what do you think ?

So the sneaky thing theycame up with was that if not 100% of the riders want to compete then we cancel.But I don’t get it why then even give us the 3 options be course if there was 2persons wanted the first option and then 4 wanted the second option and so onhow would that work ??

So anyways after a longdiscussion they just said we start in 10 min that’s it. So yahh this tour isbye the rider for the riders.

And my heat is the firstone so I’m getting ready of course. The rider I’m going against is zoon. And I’mall patched up with shoes gloves and hoodie. So for me it wasn’t cold but Icould see allot of riders freezing their asses of.

So the flag goes up andthe heat is on,, First I try to do a blind judge but wind is super gusty andwhen i popped i got no lift so i ended up doing a raley to blind. So for nexttrick I thought okay more speed this time. And i went for a front mobe and igot it and i loped the kite after but it still felt ok and I was ready to beatzoon. So on my way out i go for the slim and miss the bar. Well unfortunately Ihad my kite connected to the fifth line and have you ever had that dead angelwhere the kite just won’t re launch it just stays in the middle. After like 3min I finally got it up and then I realize the leash and the fifth line aretwisted all around me so I can’t undo it while the kite is barely flying injust the 5th line. So I have to let it go and spin around in the water tountwist the leach. And the kites seemed to love this position. So another 3 minI was re launching it and finally got it up and the heat was 30 sec left and ialmost had time to do another jump : ) and of course zoon won thisheat.

And now I am waiting forthe double elimination. It’s time to climb back !

PKRA In France Leucate Reg day!

First thing I notice onthe train to the airport was that I forgot my noise cansling headphones andnormally I can’t travel without them. They kills the noise from engines andother noise you don’t like :)

And normally I’m nervousjust before check in. Why? because you never know if they will charge you forthe big bag you have with all the kite equipment and make trouble. So this timesomehow I know they would just be nice and pass it trough. I mean I didn’t eventhink about it and there you go I had no problems. Why I’m saying this isthat there are always something going wrong most of the time haha.

So on to the flight andfinally when everyone boarded the plane was full. Well almost for the firsttime in a long time I had 3 seats for myself. This was perfect I just laid downand slept :) So what more can you ask for on a flight hehe.

The flight was alsostraight to Barcelona from Copenhagen. And there i met up with my Russianfriends Alex and Peter. Rented a car and drove off. Sweet and relaxed day andno stress.

The registration day isalways relaxed you meet up with all the riders again. And you talk about yourwinter trips and just look around the area get your stuff to the riders tentand then normally its time for food. And yes today it was pizza, Not the bestnone I had but it was ok. Next days I think I will have other than pizza steaksare better :)

It also seems like hereis allot of riders so there might be trials then all of the ranked top12 willbe pre qualified so I will be watching the trails relaxed from the beach...More news tomorrow

Some pictures from Venezuela Margarita. This spot was verynice and the best part of all you had 26km of just beach all along the coastwith no one there. You need a car to get here and it is not too far from elYaque and it will take about 40min to drive. On the beach you have nothing Imean there are no shelter or anything just sand and a lot of seashells but theyare not to sharp anyways. So bring a lot of water and food you will need it. Ihave been in Venezuela 5-6 times and I never went here before. I just can’tremember the name of the place but when I do remember I will write it down J

Back on Coche the last two weeks was very up and down butthe rain stopped a bit it was still some nights with rain and cloudy. Theamount of good windy days was few all the other times I have been there in Febit have been great. But I guess all years can’t be the same and wind ischanging everywhere I herd. I also tried to kite with 20m lines on the 14m and12m nhp and it works better than I expected. You get a much faster reactiontowards the kite and it looks like you keep your kite lower when you do thepowered moves. It’s easier to pass the bar with shorter lines but in the otherhand you don’t have as much time in the air but it’s something you will have toget use to. And I haven’t decided yet what to go with hehe

So food on Coche is not the best I must say. I mean the lastweek for me was not so good had to eat pills to block every day and it wasstill coming out water JI was lucky anyways I didn’t have to go to the medical center and get drops. Mygirlfriend she had to go there after being sick the first week and she had tovisit the hospital. So if you plan to go to Coche its time to bring food withyou from home it will save you a lot of problems.

Enough of that overall it was very good we had mostly sunnydays and there where wind for kiting. I was using all my sizes and of course alot of people won’t kite unless its strong wind ether they don’t have big kitesor it’s just the Coche syndrome,, nahh I’m to lazy to pump my big kite J Well some days youpump your biggest kite and wind dies well at least you got some wourkout haha youknow how it is.

I remember when I stayed in Coche 4 years ago and then I washere for 5 month. But then I rented a house with my friend Ilya form Russia andthe prisez where like trippel less than it is now. So the taxi from the houseto the beach was about 2 Bulivares and I think that at the time was about 0.6euro’s. So taxi then was 2 now 10 and its way stronger now than before comparedto the swe kronor. And at the time I cant remember being to sick J

Anyways the first week herewas crazy. Me and my girlfriend got sick. I wasn’t as bad as her she had someparasites in her stomach messing it up allot for her. I was only bad for a daybut then after some days I got fever and a cold. So the trip didn’t start outto good.

But now we are both good and of course my stomach is never 100%good but it’s just to eat an loperam to bloc it for a day and its all good:)

The days we had wind the kiting have been ok. Allot of big sizeshave been riding my 14 and 12 allot. Normally in feb the wind is strong and norain. at least not for like 5 days in a row. The day before yesterday we had atypical good coche day strong wind and sunny. Yesterday we all thought it wasgoing to be great but the wind just didn’t want to fill in. Until very late evening.

The video I have been talking about from Mauritius is also finishedI will just have to upload it and from this connection here it is impossibleright now.

But hopefully it will be up very soon. :)

So yes finally wind :) Think we have had 4 days withno wind now and today it didn’t look good in the morning but it came fromnowhere and was very good I was even over powered on my 10m. But I was to exited to go back in and change thekite so I was kiting for about two hours.

Me and Asia where out with Jessie taking photos andthey ended up really nice. Hope to have some of them on the page soon as well.The spot we were at was very good. Only one small thing its off shore and ifyou lose your kite and don’t have a rescue boat out there you might not get itback. And we were lucky to have a rescue boat out there with us because Asialost her kite once and without the rescue boat that kite would maybe be lost J

After the session we planned to sleep for 1h and thengo out again but wind dropped so we started to pack all out stuff. So I leavetomorrow and there will be no time to kite so its better to have everythingpacked.

And the new pictures will come up soon.

First we had to find a taxi on the street and barginghere is a must. If you don’t barging you will end up paying more than doubleprice. So here we start I ask how much to El Gouna then he asks me back how much?Then you laugh if you want or just say a price you are willing to pay or youask him back, how much? So he tells you 100 Egyptian pounds. If you have beenhere already a few times then you know the price is more less half of what theysay. So then you go, no 30 pound. And of course he won’t go with that but thenin the end you meet up somewhere around 50 and its all good. You still know youpay more than normal but that is like 10 dollars for a 30 min drive with 4people and full off equipment.

Finally in El Guna we start preparing the kites andout in the water we go. The wind felt allot stronger than it was so I went outon my 9m and it was to small I change and the wind is dropping slowly, But we managedto get some pictures before the wind was so bad you could not go upwindanymore.

So we sit around and hope for the wind to kick inagain but nopp. Nothing is happening and it’s just dropping more and more. Wewent in to the town and had some lunch. When we came back to the beach it wasstill nothing so we decided to go back to Magawish.

First day in Colona Egypt!

I started to pump my 14m kite and just as I connect mylines on the kite it feels like it picked up. So I pump my 12m and then as I connectthe lines to the kite again if feels stronger but I’m unsure so I go out on the12m. And yes after 15 min it is way too much :) So back in and there is Fridastanding with the 9m she just finished rigging it :) haha thanks and I took the9m and went straight out again, Nahh just kidding. Im not that rude. So Ipumped the 7m for Frida and launched her and off we went out to the sand barwitch wasn’t there. The high tide was so high that it wasn’t even anything leftof it. Choppy and strong wind why not any wind is good wind as long you can keepupwind and be powered. Didn’t do too much exiting tricks today but some regulartricks and a happy face after the session, First day is always good to not kiteto much so 1.5h was enough for today.

So tomorrow we have a long day all daytaking photos and doing video so be ready for some wipe out I can guaranteethere will be plenty :) Asia my Nobile team mate is also here she will teach mesome stuff as well tomorrow. I think I am a bit alone here dudes. Me alone withFrida Eska Asia and Jessie form Colona center. At least I have Gaz here he’sworking here as well. And if you didn’t know he can sing like hmm who shod Icompare with maybe Bruce Springsteen yahh something like that I promise youvery good impressive. And of course he is in a band. They are called.. last days Mauritius

We had nonwindy days and also a lot of wind some days. We decided to drive to Port Luisthe capital of Mauritius . You will be surprised how smallthe roads are here and how many cars and busses that goes on them. The roadsare hardly straight anywhere most of the roads are up down right and left withsharp turn’s haha. You will for sure not fall a sleep while driving. But if youask me if I can sleep if I am not driving its easy even with all the turns, Youwake up sometimes when you hit a bump to hard or something. The roads have alot of traffic not only the cars and other big vehicles also people walking andcrossing the roads like they where bullet proof and don’t talk about dogs theyown the streets. Some places they just walk out and all traffic have to stopand let them pass. Luckily this doesn’t happen on the fast roads. Sometimeswhen you see a bus coming towards you it almost feels like chicken race theydone even try to drive close to the side so you both can fit properly they justdrive. And after the buss you see a black cloud of dust yahh it looks like ablack cloud from the back so you take a big breath and just let it pass.

In the citywe where looking for an computer store to bye some hard drives. We went to oneshop after the other one and they gave us all different direction to the sameshop. I mean common we had to walk like 45 min to find it and it was 10 minaway. I think we where in the hood somewhere as well just cursing bye. What Ireally like with this place is that you feel safe doesn’t matter where you walkif you are lost somewhere it feels good and people help you out even if some ofthem aren’t the best to explain the road to the place you are looking for.Before going back to the house I came up with the good idea to take a burger atmacdonalds I haven’t had a burger there in ages. But this was the biggestmistake ever the worst mc I ever tried the burger was old and didn’t tasteanything then french fries was only oil not to recommend.

The kitesession we had yesterday and the day before where in another location than wemostly kite in this place is called Bel Om Bre not sure if the spelling isright. The spot is good and bad. Good is that you can park your car at the spotand just unpack it with all your gears. Most of the spots here are actuallylike this and that is very cool. Then you have a good shade form the big treesso you can relax, to sit in the sun all day gets to hot. So the water close tosure must be like 32 degrees. But after 20m out its normal 26-28 degrees whenyou come from the outside close to shore and crash there it fells almost likeyou will burn. This is all good and when its high tide its good as well, Theonly thing I really hate with this place is the sharp coral rocks you step onwhen you go out and launch your kite. They are so dam sharp if you just step abit on them you might cut your feet. Anyways when you have the board on yourfeet its all good and normally when you crash you don’t hit the bottom. If itslow tide its to shallow to do tricks there. Then the best spot is 200m fromshore and there its insane choppy and very hard to even pop but good training.And its deep and you can feel safe not to hit some rocks.

So lastdays we have been practising on blind judge to pass and yesterday I finallyunderstood how it will have to be performed to work. It was like a small lightin my head just lightened up and I was like ohhh this is how I should do it Itried a few times and I was very close making it. This was after 1.5h in thewater so I had no power in the end but I had one try and I landed it butwithout the bar in my hand. And I dropped the kite and lines tangled. So nowit’s just to see the next session if I am right. I feel its there and it will bethere. The kgb to blind is working good as well for me not very stable but now Iland it more less every session. All switch is tricks work fine so we will se whatwill be next. Hopefully we can make a cool video her with some good new stuff. Andhopefully get some more awesome pictures form this place.

The last two days have been very good kiting and bothme and Peter have lerned some new stuff also training on tricks you aren’t stable on. Like allot of switch moves and also some grabbed tricks. First day on my 9m but changed quickly tomy 12 m wind wasn’t enough for my 9m . I saw Peter pullingsome mobe 7s so iw as trying the same for a whileand got really angry with myself i always get stuck in that trick :) So i camback to the beach mad ass hell and dident speak to anyone forlike 15 min haha then I d ecided to go in the wateragain and try something ells . And then i landedslim to wrapped two times after eachother and that saved the day :) 10 min after the wind dropped .

The next day we where on our 14m s and everything was working finelanding all switch moves and also started to grab my switch back to blind. Hopefullynext session it will be to kgb :)

Will also put out a small clip of when we went surfing. You are going to laugh a lot. Thisis not for me I think :)

But it is fun at least for a while then I got to tiered of getting washed in the waves so ihad a nice 30 min paddle back to the beach. And after it feltlike I was going to sleep straight. And not to talk of my arms.

Yesterdayand today we had some awesome sessions. Loads of fun :)

Yesterday it didn’t look to promising in the morning a lot of rain and then the windwas up and down most of the day. In the evening the wind was light but I stillthought I could make a run on my 14m NHP so I pumped it up and went in thewater. Was ok for like 15 min and I had time to make a few tack and some tricksand best of all I mad peter pump his 13 as well haha. And when he was on theway in it dropped. Anyway we where standing a bit on the beach joking about thewind is coming and we at one point peter told me hey Mike ic an se the whitecaps on the outside they are coming in 15 sec. I was like yah whatever,,, and I was so busted the wind started afterlike 1 min and we both went out on our big kites. After only going back anforward 2 times the wind was really kicking in, the funny part was when welooked at each other and went back fast to the beach landed the kites in 2 secand ran to pick our 9m that we had rigged haha it was like a competition who iscoming out first in the water,,,,

And yespeter won because I didn’t pump my kite enough before haha,,,,

And then wejust had a great session, he was going for it and we just tried to beat eachother tricks the whole evening. After the session we went straight home and wewhere both completely worn out haha.

Today wehad wind form the start and Alex was there to take some photos in the rain thatcame in. And we manage to get some nice ones and then the sky went white andgrey. We also had an amazing session today and in the end of it I decided notto levee the water until I landed the blind judge5 (blind judge to blind). Anddon’t ask I tried and tried and I was going to stay there until dark but afterlike I don’t know 40 crashes I finally landed it and perfect landing so I wasreleased, and we could go home Peter told me yeahhh f&(&” finaly,hahaha

So you seenever give up the more u crash the closer you are to landing the move so justgo for it.

Now we havehad a few days of very strong good winds. We have been doing some filming aswell and hopefully in some days we can make a small movie from the firstsessions here. Its like starting all over again when you haven’t been in thewater for some time. Last time I had only two days of wind in Egypt and before that is was sins thelast comp of the tour in Chile .

Anyways thefirst day we where on our biggest kites and it was easy to land everything. Thestrong windy days is less tricks landed for sure but it’s getting better muchbetter. Today I did a lot of switch if not only switch tricks. Enough of alltricks they will be on the video anyways.

More aboutthis place its beautiful. When you land on the airport its only one hour andthirty minutes to Le Morne where you have the good kite spot at one eye. Thereis a big mountain with a hole on the side and it locks like a big head and thehole is the eye. So they also named the big waves out on the reef for one eye.So I guess the beach is called kite beach. I just found out they call it PointeSud. Anyways this is a great spot you park the car under the trees on the beach.One of the best things here are the panninitruck. There you have fresh baguettes and paninnis and other stuff so after a sessionyou go there and you enjoy the food so much.

First time on a Horse!

When we came to the horses we told them i have already done horse riding before so they wouldn't give me a boring slow horse. We thought that they would take very care then and we would not be able to speed up and galop at all. But i was wrong the didn't care to much and he told me straight away when i sat on the horse first time? hehe i was just lauthing...

Fridas horse didn't look to nice in the beginning it was going back and forward kicking a bit and trying to test Frida i guess is fe was experience or not. Phew luckily my horse didn't test me :) I would be flipping put i was already a bit scared when i saw the horses teeth close to my legs. I was just hoping don't bite me. And what didn't help at all was when Frida told me when you see the hors ears stickign backwards they are not happy. So every time my horse took them backwards i was just waiting for something to happen.

After a 15 min walk over the roads we finally came to the desert. Ok so the only thing i had to do to stop the horse is to pull the lines backwards. Sounds very easy so lest see if it works. The guy just did a sound and the horse just went off like a dam rocket. In this moment i was holy shii........ and after a while i tried to break and the horse went even faster, ohh no and i tried to pull harder and the hope in my hands where to long so i could not pull more my body was in the way so i had to slowly work with my fingers to tighten the rope and finally they where stretched again and i pulled hard and still nothing the horse just turned his head a bit and cept on running. At this point i thought i was going to fall of i lost the control off the horse and i was on my way off the horse and finally it started to slow down. Pheeew that was close haha but so much fun. So we walked for a bit to give the horse a rest. haha give me a rest. Then there we go again ,, and same thing but i maneage to stop it faster this time,

And finally back and i managed to stay on the horse the whole time amazing. Frida was just laughting at me most of the time. And she just went like a rocket ahead of me as well and i thought i was riding fast, sitting there and bumping hahaha. But very very fun i must say.

This is definitely recommended if you like to try something new. But be careful you don't want to fall off a horse.

It has been a long season 10 stops in total i missed out on the first stop this year as i was changing from my old sponsor to Nobile in the beginning of the year. So i missed out on Mexico. The stops i went to this year is France,Venezuela,Cabarete,Tarifa,Fuerteventura,Germany,Canada,Brazil and Chile. And then there have been other trips gonging in between so it is allot of traveling and its fun of course but right now just to stay at home for a while and rest is just as good :)

Next days i will try to gather all pictures form the year and put them to a folder.

And a big thanks to all my sponsors. Without them there would be no traveling at all or no competing so thank you all!

Last day of freestryle Chile!

I didn't feel so much better today this morning but a few extra vitamins and a good breakfast made me feel better. But still long from perfect. Anyways i will wait for my heat and go 100% ofcourse. There are allot of heats to be done today before it is my time so i am just going to lay back and enjoy. Peter is up soon and helping him is always fun and its funny i'm more nervus when he's heat is going on than my own. So peter is doing good so far and i'm happy its going well maybe he will even go against me if he just kites like he have done these last heats. But up against Pastor he lost but it was so close.

So pastor is heading for me and I start to get my stuff ready slowly. And time goes and i have everything set and the one going against me is Garat. Pastor somehow tweaked his leg in the heat against Garat so he stooped after a few minutes and came back to the beach. So me and Garat go again and its up. The first trick for me is good land and then i'm so motivated i go for next trick straight whit not even hocking back in and ofcourse that was not a good idea so i missed and crashed that one. And the heat today was the worst ever for both me and Garat we where crashing everything even easy stuff. And in the end he made a trik and he advanced to the next step so i finished 4th this comp. <its all good becourse this might put me on the 4th position overall.

Matanzas Day one PKRA!

be in the first heat and we arrived late to the beach so he was stressing a bit. Like just before his het he didn’t even have fins on the board and no kites pumped or anything ready. So we all helped him pump the kite and rig his lines while he was putting on his wetsuit. Then in the last sec the heat started then he didn’t have a leach to the board no wax for the front part and only 2 fins in hehe. But he went out there anyways and did his best. There where 3 people in the heat and he made 2ond. And then the next heat he lost. So we all left the beach and now we are at the house playing guitar and just having a great time.

Tomorrow is the big day first heat is a bye for more less everyone sins we are only 19 freestyle competitors. And its ruff conditions hard to come back in to the shore after the heat if you drop your kite during the heat you might not get it up and there is only rocks everywhere close to the beach so you have to be extra care full. So tomorrow it’s the day we all freestylers are waiting for.

Today we didn’t really do anything we just spent time in the house watching movies and Chilin. I had the problem to just to sit down. So I was always crying every time I had to stand upJ Anyways there isn’t anything exiting about today so let’s see what will happen tomorrow of the first day of the comp. They might start with the wave comp sins the forecast looks bad for the waves next days. And the wind looks good so for us its better if the waves are smaller.

Chile snowboarding day!

This morning we wake up early and head out to Santiago and the mountain where we were going to snowboard. Down in the beginning of the mountain the roads started to go very snakey and it only got worse and with my car illness it didn’t help with those dam roads and it lasted for like one hour. On the way up I guess normally you have protection at the side of the road so you can’t ride off the road or at least have something there to stop you but no here is was just free fall out of the road so no mistakes hehe. Finally at the top and there is the big hotels and rental store and everything. So we rent everything board, boots and gloves and then we are set to go. Well I start off with a first crash just before I was going to but my board on, nice one mike 1-0 to me. So first lift up to the top and then we go off well I don’t really go off so good everyone is already way down the hill and I’m speeding up a bit and then of course there is a nice spot of just ice so I lose the edge of the board and slam my ass straight in the isy spot and then I keep on sliding down the hill on my back for like 100m. So that was a great start my butt hurts like hell. And everyone where laughing nice at least someone had fun:)

Peter was ripping he was just cruising and jumping and showing off his skills me I was struggling just going down the hill Alex was also juts cruising and laughing at me and Andy was on his ass a bit as well haha. So after a few runs I was not crashing to much but I was so afraid just to sit on my butt. We tried to film a bit but didn’t work out so well but we got some nice photos I think. So was a blast and it wasn’t to cold luckily was about +5 so we were mostly to hot. The rode back I was sleeping most of the way. And my ass is so sore I had to sit on the side so i was sleeping on Andy haha. So tomorrow we have the registration and resting day for me for sure.

So we arrive in Santiago next day about 11:00 in the morning. My best friends where there already Alex and Peter so I called them and they told me to stay put they will be there soon. So they went 2h from the kite spot just to pick me up and sins Andy was going to and we had some extra space he went with us. First we went to a big mall to buy some food for the house we have rented in Matanzas. The best part was when we were going out of the mall to find the car haha we went looking for it for like 1h. In the house we are a whole group there its fun we have 4 bedrooms and plenty of beds and 1 bathroom so it’s busy allot of the time.J There are holes in the walls some places the windows have fallen out the doors are falling apart and the insects find their way in under the doors in the evening to come to our gas heater. But in all other aspects this house is so cool its very old but it got its charm and we all like it allot. Also the rubick cube seems to be very interesting for most people Andy has 2 of them and everyone is trying to learn it I gave it 10 min but its nothing for me hehe. I rather fix some stuff on my comp. Now we have 2 days to kill before the comp seems like we will go snowboarding tomorrow hope so was only like 7 years ago or something for me last time so don’t expect any jumps there.

Brazil!

Ok finally I have my computer fixed. So here i am in Chile writing about what happened in Brazil. The days in Brazil where quiet relaxed sins they were just ruining men on men heats the whole competition which is better for everyone. Instead of four people in the water it’s just you and the one you go against. And also there are 5 judges watching instead of 3. So this way its better and more relaxed.

So the first heat i went against Da silva which came first in the other tour last week. So I know it was going to be hard to beat him. I don’t really remember everything I just know I beat him and it was a close heat. So next up i was against Pastor Witch I lost against, this heat I didn’t do well at all so was not happy at all with my performance. Anyways I was thinking about the double elimination now so just to levee that behind :)

Next day it was time for the double elimination and sins I already made it to 9th place I had to wait for about 3-4 hours before it was my turn so I was cursing around the beach and helping peter in his heats he got kicked out earlier then me. Soon enough it was time for me to go and it was against a local Brazilian don’t remember his name. And this was the last second heat of the day so I just went as hard as i could. I was very happy with this heat I landed everything and it was powered moves as well most of it. So now it was up the next day to decide how it will go in the double.

Not to early morning next day so it was good start hehe. Today I had a heat against Alvaro so its time to do another good heat to beat him. I remember in Canada he beat me once and then i beat him back so we are very close in the competition. So start with some regular moves and allot of switch was they way for me but anyways he was crashing allot during our heat so it made me at least a 6th place. Now I was against Da sliva again he have been kiting super good all day and ripping it up so it will take a perfect heat from me again to win this one. Is started of with a good mobe and then i missed my second trick and I went totally off balance after that sometimes its juts hard to keep the focus and you try to do harder moves straight away and it just didn’t work good hehe so I lost vs. him but not to unhappy with a 6th place here. Also Da Silva made it to second place very good rider from Brazil.

The day after the comp we all had a long bus ride ahead of us. The organiser fixed a big bus for us and the bus ride from the comp was about 7h. So my plan for that trip was to sleep it all the way and so I did haha. Finally in Fortaleza about 15:00 my plane to Santiago was at night 01:00. But I was not alone Andy Yates and Toby the judge was also waiting for the same plane so we had a nice evening at the airport.

The first day was long bus ride from Fortaleza to Lois Corea. Was between seven and nine houors i was sleeping allway so have no clue hehe. Anyways they day after it was registration and almost everyone was restign after the loong bus ride. I went out for like a 30 in session and it was great no wetsuite just harness on and go.
Then the first day of the comp they deside to go men on men all day and only finich half of the singel ladder sins they are expekting wind everyday and good wind.

So first heat for me was the easiest one in the whole year for me i had a bye >) top 6 riders had it sins there wasent enought people to fill in the whole ladder of 32 persons. Then my next heat was against the winner of last weeks kpwt the other tour. And i know it was going to be hard and the brazilian kid was ripping.I had a fearly good heat and landed alot of switch and powerd stuff i still missed a fiew tricks but i won and was happy with it ofcourse >) so now it was just to wait for next day and then iw as going against pastor.

So day two.
The heat against pastor dident en up to well i lost. First up i had a to big kite so when i was going to pop i missed it and it just dident work for me that heat well thats comp you have your good days and your bad onec. So now i was 9th in the double and i really want to make better >) well you always do so lets see tomorrow in the double.
the third day and they started the double and i was in the second last heat of the day so i had a soft morning was like tree hours before my heat so i was just crusing around and helping peter out in his heats.
ohh damit out of battery i will be abck tomorrow with the rest

Today I finally finish on the podium on a 3rd place. J I don’t know more what to say I am just so happy to finally be up there. I have been very close this year and now its official haha I finished 4th in the single and whoever was climbing up form the double I had to beat to stay in 4th position. So the guy who cam up to me was Herbert he was ripping today winning 5 heats in a row before he went against me. So I beat him and then I was going against Alvaro Onieva again, he won over me in the single ladder so I was hoping to beat him in the double. And so I did and I was so happy because then I knew I had the podium place for sure. This time it was 3-2 decision but on my favour this time. J And then I went up against Kevin and I lost against him and that puts me into a 3rd position witch I am more than happy about. That is all for now I will come back tomorrow with more info …… And tomorrow we have a big air best trick competition to attend at 9:00.

Canada day 3!

Day two Canada!

I woke up this morning at 5:30, And I looked out the window and it was completely black. I thought to my self are you kidding me are we going to kite in the dark. But the skipper meting was 6:30 so there was still time for the light to come up. So after the meeting and of course there was no wind haha. They delayed it till 8:00 and still no wind so next announcement was 10:00 so I tried to go back to sleep and as I fell a sleep someone knocked on the door and it was about 9:00 and it was time to run. So the riders that are left in the single elimination we are heading to another spot where there was wind. So eight riders left and finally at the spot it looks awesome a big field with just grass and then a gap down and then the water. Sweet place and the wind is good. We start off and my heat is against Pastor, if I wind I go to semi final. So I’m loading up and go out in the water and getting ready for the heat. I went quickly in and changed my 9m to my 12m before my heat I felt it went weaker and I rather be over powered than under. So back out again and the heat is on I se pastor landing most his stuff and im doing the same I land more less everything and in the end the wind dropped of a bit and he stared to crash some tricks and I had good hopes in the end I won that heat. And I won it and yes very happy mike.

So next heat is against Kevin the leading rider of the tour at the moment. And I ended up going with my 9m this heat was so strong before the heat and in the beginning of it, but the last 2 min of the heat I was just going back and forward battling to stay upwind. At that moment I witch I had my 12m but you can’t know the wind will drop. And as the heat was finished the wind came back haha. So the heat ended up 3-2 for Kevin very close heat. Very happy to be close vs him. And then the final for 3-4th place was vs Alvaro. We both had good heats and in the end of the heat I missed my last trick and that is what it take sometimes to win one trick. Alvaro won with a 3-2 decision as well. And I ended up 4th in the single elimination.

In the double I can still climb up and if I lose the first heat I will slip back one step to 5th place so that is the worst I can end up now in the double. Lets hope for good winds tomorrow and we will se what will happen.

First day of comp in Canada.

Today it seems soft riders meeting at 12:00 and first start around 15:00. Because the wind is super low. So we have to wait and se what will happen. And the forecast was pretty accurate it said the wind would pick up at 15:00 and so it did. And the first heats started. First two heats was ok wind not great but ok. And they kept running like tree more heats and the wind was very poor. Some riders could not even do tricks because they where to heavy and the other rider that was light could do tricks so it wasn’t so hard to know who would win the heats. This isn’t what we riders pay for, travel around the world paying a lot of money and then they decide to run the first day heats in less than 10 knots. Its very unfair for a lot of riders I think, me on the other hand was lucky this time. Aaron and Madison had a heat before me and Julian. And I was thinking how in the hell am I going to make it out to the boy I could not ride upwind, So I started walking out in the water. And as it got deeper I started body dragging out. And Julian who I was against was doing the same thing we could barely fly the kites even to body drag and they where still running the heat before. Amazing finally like 1 min left of their heat they cancelled it. Then I tried to ride back to the beach I was sinking even going downwind haha. And the wind was this bad for 30 min at least. I was so happy they didn’t go with it.

So then we wait again for the wind to kick in more. And it happened like 2h later and it was actually good for a while. In my heat vs Julian I managed to land some tricks and make it through to next round. Then the wind went light again after a while so the next heat for me didn’t happen today. So tomorrow we have a skippers meeting at 6:30 in the morning yahh no kidding. So I am going to sleep now hehe,,

So last day of the comp in germany. The wind is off shore and not so strong. They forecast is saying the wind will come up but for us to have enough wind in this direction for another freestyle ladder we need minimum 25 knots. So they think they will start another race instead. So they did and after the race they had an expression session with some of the riders. It was fun to see because some times the jumps where big and some where like bunny jumps haha.

Anyways after that everything was done and everyone was just waiting for the award ceremony.

I will also upload photos from the event tomorrow.

Day Nine St:P-Ording!

Finally today we weake up and it is sun. I say we yes me and Frida my girlfriend surprised me yesterday night she just showed up with my friend Tony(skotten). We had a great party yesterday as well with a big German band have no cue of what they where singing but here where a lot of people about 2000-5000 have no clue but a lot.

Today nothing have happened we didn’t have any wind but they still did a padel race and a lot of people where watching. I didn’t do it feel like I am getting sick so no water. But I went to the ramp today again for like 15 min not a good idea i managed to ride out of it and hit a small pole hehe. But its all good didn’t hit it to hard so.

Tomorrow there is still a chance we will run another single freestyle ladder so no party. Just relaxing evening and be ready for tomorrow.

And yes pictures will be up I haven’t got them yet. ,,,,,,,

Its time for boarder Cross and everyone is getting there stuff ready freestylers and racers seems like everyone is doing the cross. So my first heat out we are only 2 people in the heat and 2 advances. So it didn’t feel to hard hehe. Anyways so when I come back in after the race and this is not a joke! I am disqualified. I mean come on give me a freaking break. But no I didn’t go around the boy from the right way. You have to go upwind of it from one side. I was laughing and asking what difference does it make we where only 2 people anyways and the smart head judge my best friend told me no you have to follow the rules. HAHA so of course I lose it. And it turns out that the gay I was competing with in the heat did the same as me. And that he missed I mean common isn’t it obvious??? But after a while they told me I could enter again because be both did the same, So when someone else does a mistake as well then its ok!!! Stay to the rules buddy. You are really making a great job keep it up buddy. Oki enough of this.

So the next heat up. And I dident say but we all started on land with the kites up 4-5 people. And you need to run down to the water throw the board in front of you and ride away as fast as you can and jump over obstacles. My first heat I had a perfect start then I kinbda slammed the start on my face straight down haha. So I cam in third and that was it for me out. It was fun as long as it lasted.

And then I decided to go inline skating for a bit in the mini ramp. A bit better this time than the first day I tried it. And today we managed to get some pictures of it so I will upload them tomorrow. I don’t even know the names of the tricks anymore but I did some grabs and slides and stuff haha.

We still have 2 more days to come ,,, lets see what they will give, maybe more freestyle? Don’t know but there are roomers :)

Wow today was a nice feeling waking up when it was raining in the car. I didn't think it would be any rain so i let my windows be down a bit. Not a good idea so when i woke up first thing was to dry out all the water :)

Also i got to the riders tent today at about 10:00 and ofcourse they have the meeting at 11:00,,,, today, could have slept another hour haha. Its good to be up in time anyways. And today i thought they would do boarder cross but they decided to do only racing. Boring for me becaurse i don't do the racing. Why i'm not doing it is becourse they run it the same days as the freestyle and then you don't have any energy to both it just doesn't work.

So today i will go out for a freestyle session with my mates. And i am still waiting for the pictures form my friend so hopefully i will get them today :)

Today it looks stronger when you look out on the see. And yes it is good for 9m…. I need to have a good day to make it all the way up to the top. So I prepare all my things and I just want to be ready for the first heat end then just climb the ladder as far as possible. Today I made it trough 5 heats and in the end of it was so dam tired I could barely do tricks anymore. The first 2 heats went very well I landed basically everything. Then I had my third heat vs Peter one of my best friends. The thing is its always fun to kite against peter but not on the 9th place because we both aren’t happy if we stay on 9th. J So in the water we have fun and just kite for fun but still it is competition. And I saw him crashing some and then I crashed some.,, after the heat I was convinced he won because it felt like a bad heat. And he thought the same way ,,, so we where like oki you win no you win and so on. But it turns out I won it and of course he wasn’t happy and at the same time he is happy for my sake its hard in those moments but we can still joke about it so now its 1-0 to me. Lets hope we don’t meet again so he can make it 1-1 hehe

After that I had another good heat against Pastor and made it trought. So now I was up against Mario Rodwald he have been riding very well all day and he beat me as well with landing everything he tried. I was thinking for my self in the water give me a break at least crash once hehe. But nopp he won and that was the 6th place form me. I was so tired in the end as well I shud have taken my 7m ,,, but that’s the thing you never know when the wind picks up or drop. Normaly the 9m would have been good but after 4 heats you are so tierd and then it would have been easier with the 7m to do the tricks . J Anyways its all good I didn’t finish 17th phewww… And for the record today some rider was kiting in front of me in my heat and he was not even competing. Not only one time but two times he was in my was in the competition area so I couldent do my tricks. And then we had one heat when a rider just cuts me off im going towards land he is coming towards me and he just stops in front of me and then he goes back and does his tricks. BLOCKING this is called. And I asked the head judge of the both scenarios and he didn’t even see it ??? Nice work there Head judge! But yesterday you dsq me for nothing and today you miss a whole dam rider riding in front of me 2 times that isn’t even competing J Stay to the rules. Well do your job. That is what I would say!

Gray and a bit of rain in the sky when I wake up, but there is wind. And it is looking like strong wind. I go down to the beach and I see a lot of people riding on their 9m kites. Nice hopefully a full day with strong wind. The competition starts rapidly today as well and after I rigged all my stuff I got changed and went to the water with my 10m. Feelt good and I was confident I would do good this day.

So I have a heat against Romeo. And he is a very good rider to beat him I know I need to make everything powered and just land everything of course then i might make it to the next one. So my heat went very well I landed all tricks switch and normal, and at the end of the heat about 40 sec left I missed my switch mobe and managed to tangle my kite with alvaro that was in the same heat vs another rider. It took us maximum 10seconds and we wher off again so we didn’t loose any time and I didn’t really make him loose his heat or anything.

But the head Judge decided to disqualify me. I know they had in the rules if you take out another person you get dsq but not a small tangle like this didn’t even affect us. So the rules are very funny sometimes. Just a small look back in Portugal 2 years ago. I was actually in the heat vs alvaro and we have 4 boys that you have to stay inside off. I was kiting inside the boys and I could not do so much tricks because the wind was outside the boys. And alvaro was kiting outside the boys. And then it was all cool For the same head judge to let alvaro kite there isn’t that funny ? Keep to the rules they tell me J Anyways back to today. So now I am 17th and I still have a chance in the double. So I will keep my cool now and just relax till tomorrow. It is going to be a long day. Thinking of bringing a big pizza with me so I can eat in between the heats :D

The day starts with racing. The wind isn’t strong enough again for freestyle. But they manage to make two races. I was just hanging out in the riders launch and actually updating my page when they suddenly told me hey they will start freestyle in 45 min. Hmm we where all dam it out of nothing they will start. No one expected it so it felt like they just decided in 1 sec. But we have been here 4 days now and haven’t been moving to much J so everyone have been laid back. Didn’t expect wind till tomorrow but her we go.

So my heat is up soon. Because I am in the first heat. So good that I have all my kites pumped already. They take a lot of space in the tent but I had nothing to do the first day so I just pumped them all.

I take my 14m because it feels very light. And that is the right size I think so I go out. And dam its hard to even stay upwind. I manage to do one trick going out. And one on the way going in. Then I had to jump off the board run up the beach and in the water again. So then I made two more tricks and then trying to go far out to get upwind. But I mad it maybe 1m higher than I was before hehe and the heat ended up with me doing about six tricks. I didn’t even see the other rider, I was so concentrated on just going upwind. But I didn’t crash anything so I hoped for a win. And yes I mad it to the next heat.

There it stops because the wind started to get even lighter and lighter. So after a few heats they decided to stop and see if the wind would increase. But it never kicked in again and we are now waiting for tomorrow for the rest of the heats. Hopefully we will get better wind and if the forecast is right we will.

Germany PKRA day three......

Finally no rain in the morning. Actually the sun is about to come out. And after the skipper meeting they decided to go with a race because the wind was to light for freestyle. So before the race starts they do the draw. Of who will go against who in the single ladder. All the top 12 ranked are already in a position on the table, so the rest gets drawn so you have no idea who you go against. When they are done with that you always go and check it out who you go against and so on if you win who will be your next opponent and so on. So no freestyle in a while. I went in the riders lounge and I fell a sleep on one of the sofas there for like 1h or something have no clue to be honest. So I wake up and the lunch is just served. So I go to take some food and when I went back to sit down I manage to somehow touch a big speaker that was standing on the ground in the corner of the tent. I sat down and I just see a big speaker falling and it fell straight down on the head of another rider. Dam it and blood was poring from the back of his head. I felt so dumb and he had to go to the hospital to stitch it up. Luckily it wasn’t anything serious except for he hole in the head I gave him for being clumsy. So I felt really bad all day for that.

So when he came back he just told me ahhh Shiite happens. Yes I know but still,, I’m sorry man. The wind just went down all day so it went from week to weaker till there was nothing left not even to keep the kites in the air.

I have my inline skates with me. And I tried the mini ramp for like 20 min. Was about 6-7 years ago sins I was skating last time. I think my heart was pumping 300 wow that was hard haha. But is till manage to do some grinds and jumps. I think I will sleep good tonight after this session. Maybe i will try it again tomorrow don't know.

Today we had skippers meeting at 10:00. And a new time was set skippers meeting will be at 11:00. So we wait for the skippers meting and sins there was to much rain for everyone to get to the event area in time. It was windy and rainy all day long. They decided to start the qualifiers today. Lucky me and the other 12 people that where pre qualified we didn’t have to go out there in the rain. Well normally its no problem to go kite when it rains. But if you have been sitting on the beach waiting and you are cold like mad then you don’t have the motivation to go out there in the water and get everything full of sand. Anyways some of us where released so we left straight away to a warm place. So for me nothing happened today except getting wet and cold.

The journey starts in Sweden from my home. So we pack the car with all the gears we need. And second thing to do is fill it up with gas. Then we where on the way. Normally I feel like sleeping after 30 min driving, but I kept on going all the way to st.peter ording. Don’t know why just easy to drive with cruse on the car I guess, and it only took us about 5:30h to get here.

So I drop of Toby outside his hotel and I drive down to the beach to register. So all good i'm in time finally haha. This time I had to register 2 other persons as well.

So after the registration I went to the official restaurant that everyone goes to when here is competition. I don’t remember the name of it but they have very good food and not to expensive. So there I meet up with some riders and talk and hang out for a bit and then it was bedtime. So I slept on the official kite parking on the beach in my car.

Some days ago where where out and the clouds came with allot of wind i was totaly stacked on my 9m. No chance to do any passes at all. So it was big air time at that moment big loops and big airs was fun. And we also did some videos and some photo shoots the other day.

The video will be up next week. Also will the new trick video be up next week I must finish that one now. :)

And for the coming week Toby from core online magazine is coming to visit me in sweden so hopefully we will get wind and have some good photo sessions as well,

And the German PKRA is up in 1 week so that is where we are heading next.

More about that later...

The high tide was up so there was no beach to launch your kite. The launching spot was rocks and more rocks nice. And there where like 50 kites in the same spot so lines where tangled and so on. Before the heat you need at least 10 min just to get your kite ready some one to hold it and someone to hold your lines and try to not get tangled in all other kites around.

So my first heat up today is vs a local. I haven’t seen him ride so I have no idea what to expect but I am going 100% doesn’t matter who it is. I pick my 7m and 20m lines because I think the wind is going to pick up even more in the heat. But I was wrong there the wind didn’t pick up but I don’t think I would have done better with longer lines it was so gusty it was even hard to go upwind. I landed some good tricks and I didn’t see the other competitor in my heat do really anything so I was pretty confident after the heat that I advanced. And is did and next up was Rondina the Italian champion. I haven’t seen him on the tour this year but I remember him from last year and he was always kiting good in strong conditions. So I was a bit nerves about this heat.

Wind have picked up and I decide to take the 7m again. Good choice because I was stacked on it J And so was Rondina hehe. We both had a very hard time doing stuff but in the end I had a few more moves than him and it made me advance another heat.

Now I am against shitshoffer, sorry if not spelled correctly. He beat me in France this year and it still sits in my head so I was nevus about this heat as well. He has been kiting very well in strong winds as well. So the first thing I did in the heat was to do a big move just in front of him so that would make him a bit nervous as well. And it seemed to work because he was crashing the rest of the heat maybe not everything but most. I was crashing a bit as well but I still manage to stay on my board a bit more J And that is what really counts in the competition you don’t always need a perfect heat to win. You just need to kite better than your opponents. In each every heat.

So now I have won tree heats in a row and yes I am stoked J To go from 17th to 7th it feels very good. This heat I go vs Portas, We have been kiting a lot this year against each other and I think we are very close in all competitions so you never know if you won or not until you look at the notice board. Today he had some better stuff and I didn’t make it. You are always a bit disappointed when it goes well for you and then suddenly you are out. But when I think about it now its all good. And I think a 7th place is good to come back to after loosing early in the single.

And the single ladder they where talking about to do I don’t think it is going to happen we don’t have time I think, tomorrow they will finish up the double. And after it think its all over. But we will see if something happens.

So today they finished of the single. And guess who won it yes the same guy who kicked me out Garta. Congrats to him. Kevin second and Aaron third.

They start the double and I was waiting for my time to go and then they decide they will do it tomorrow so there where no competition for me today at all.

Before they started the comp I went out for a session and it was windy like mad. I put my 20m lines on my 7m and I was still way over powered. When you tried to unhook you just flew to the moon. But was still fun you could do some crazy big airs.

The heat starts and I see a jet ski in front of me and I am thinking okay he will move so I go for a front mobe and I land 1m from him and he didn’t move a mussel also he was just sitting there and filming. I was like what the heck is he doing. Anyways next second I forgot about him and continue my riding. I landed some and crashed some and crashed a few to many to be happy in the end. So when I left the water I knew I lost sins I saw Garat land everything he tried. And I wasn’t happy with my performance at all. It was just so hard for me to do anything I was just so powered the kite was playing with me. :)

So after the loos of this heat I am now going in to the double elimination. So this put me into 17th place at the moment. For me to get just into top 10 I need to win 2 heats. And if I lose then I am out.

Another change they have in this competition is that after the double elimination they will do another single elimination. This is because this is a grand slam event you get more points for this event than normal. So tomorrow I think they will run the double and we will see how far I can go.

Fuerteventura day one PKRA

So we are in the first heat to start today. And I didn’t pay to much attention on the watch and the time runs bye fast as hell and I see the flag is up and I still don’t have the kite in the air. I launch it and the green flag is up that means the heat is going already I see Lugar running in the water a bit downwind of me.

So I am also on my way out then I feel there is something wrong with my bar. The lines on this bar was a bit different to the other one I had before so I had to land the kite fast again and set it up fast and as good as possible in minimum time not to loose to much time doing the setup on the kite. Normally I just connect the bar to the kite and its all good. But on the other hand its all my fault I shod have checked the settings right away when I rigged it up sins it was a new bar and kite. Anyways I came in the water and the setting was still bad haha. So I pulled the de power strap maximum de power and the kite where still over sheeting when I unhooked. Sometimes in the gusts it was ok but if the wind was a bit light the kite just wanted to back stall. Maybe I shod tell you the wind was strong for a 7m and in the gust it was really hard to unhook. I manage to land 3 tricks in the heat and I think Lugar did the same amount of tricks just he had some but checks and I landed my stuff clean. So that made me advance. It was really hard to do anything really and very happy to advance ass well.

Then after a while they announced that there where not going to do the second ladder today so whoever advanced where released. Tomorrow I am going against Garat. And I have to get my stuff together and land a lot of stuff against him to beat him.

You never know what will happen and we will see tomorrow ether I will be happy or angry over my heat J If I have a good heat and lose that’s fine, but not if I have a crappy one.

So now its time to relax and get prepared for tomorrow and not being late to the heat and have everything sorted out !!!

Funniest session today in a loong time in Landskrona(sweden)

We had a long day of just waiting for the wind to stay for more than 10 min, The wind only came with the clouds and in between no wind. Very annoying when we are so motivated to go out. I have a friend visiting from Gothenburg Anton. And we are both looking out every 5 min for like 2-3h. And we decide to just go to a spot and try we got nothing to loose :) So we go and the wind seems to be ok, I take my 9m NHP he goes on his old 12m kite.

The session starts out with us trying to stay upwind. Then we come up whit the great idea to just take a downwind down to my place witch is at the other side of the town and you need to go around a small island to make it. That isn't the biggest problem but when the wind is light, and on this island you have big wind generators swinging with their blades trough the air. I don't know how big they are but the kite only reaches maybe half way to the top of it. Anton did a smart thing he went back out to go more upwind of them. I thought ahh its ok i will make it if just the wind stays strong. And ofcourse in between two of them the wind dies so ic ant stay upwind anymore. So i had to trough myself on the board and start body dragging upwind not to hit them.

I wasn't that close to them but still the thought of hitting them wasn't cool. After 5 min the wind came back and we could pass the island. And just after the island there is like 1000 rocks in the water everywhere and its shallow so we where speeding there and just doing slalom between the rocks. Most of them where under water so was no worry.

Anyways after passing that section it was just perfect flat water and then a dark cloud came and the wind went strong i was over rigged on the 9m So we went for big airs and it was really fun just to ride full speed and boost off and scream in the air :) No there where no chance to do any unhooked tricks. After the cloud passed bye the wind lightened up and also the sun came out and the session was completed.

Next thing now was how the heck are we gonna get the car. I just realized i didn't bring my key for the house. We were just laughting and had some crazy ideas how to get there with no one around :) luckily My girlfriend Frida just arrived home so we take off the wet suites and walk with normal clothes. :) was still a long walk but after the session we had it was all worth it :)

And on the way to the car we made a pit stop at the Pizzeria! why not after a great session :)

Tarifa Double!

The best thing is that you don't have to stress down in the morning and pump your kites and get everything ready in 30 min or less :) Now i can just relax take my time and rig everything in a relaxed mode.

Today there was allot of time to eat as well so i have had two lunches as well. They have a really good fruit salad here with yoghurt and other good stuff mixed in it. They must have credit for the fruit salad very very good.

Back to competition the double is going on and the world champ Hadlow climbing the latter and I think i will be going against him again. And that was the case. So there is only 2 heats now before i go against Hadlow again. And i take my 12 just to try it. I just ride 100m and i come back in again. Was to much so ill go with the 10m. Wind is slightly picking up and i think it will be good with the 10m.

Just before the heat the wind picks up even more and now i'm even a bit overpowered. But the heat is up in 30 sec so i don't really want to waist time changing kite in the last second then you get nervus as well and stressed out not good before your heat. So it starts and first trick off back mobe and wow i fly a bit to high and crash the landing not good i'm overpowered. Anyways i try to stick my kite low and i do the best i can. Haldow is pulling of some tricks and i just cant do much i land a few good tricks but most of it are crashes not good. I made my first mobe to wrapped in a heat. At the end of the heat i knew i lost. It is ofcourse ok to loose against the champ but not when you are over rigged so was not happy with my performance in that heat at all. I don't care if i lose if i had a good heat, but when you know you can do much better then you just get frustrated and ask yourself why did i do crap. haha. Anyways I finch 4th and i did win over the camp in the single elimination so it is another good result for me.

Now i have two ninth places and two fours. And it puts me back into the top10. This event i was seeded 7th. And hopefully after this result in Tarifa i will climb a bit closer to the top.

Normally they don't call you up on the podium for the 4th place but here in Tarifa they did so i was up on the podium here. Nice :)
