Amazing Kite sessions last fiew days!

Some days ago where where out and the clouds came with allot of wind i was totaly stacked on my 9m. No chance to do any passes at all. So it was big air time at that moment big loops and big airs was fun. And we also did some videos and some photo shoots the other day.

The video will be up next week. Also will the new trick video be up next week I must finish that one now. :)

And for the coming week Toby from core online magazine is coming to visit me in sweden so hopefully we will get wind and have some good photo sessions as well,

And the German PKRA is up in 1 week so that is where we are heading next.

Fuerte day four!

The high tide was up so there was no beach to launch your kite. The launching spot was rocks and more rocks nice. And there where like 50 kites in the same spot so lines where tangled and so on. Before the heat you need at least 10 min just to get your kite ready some one to hold it and someone to hold your lines and try to not get tangled in all other kites around.

So my first heat up today is vs a local. I haven’t seen him ride so I have no idea what to expect but I am going 100% doesn’t matter who it is. I pick my 7m and 20m lines because I think the wind is going to pick up even more in the heat. But I was wrong there the wind didn’t pick up but I don’t think I would have done better with longer lines it was so gusty it was even hard to go upwind. I landed some good tricks and I didn’t see the other competitor in my heat do really anything so I was pretty confident after the heat that I advanced. And is did and next up was Rondina the Italian champion. I haven’t seen him on the tour this year but I remember him from last year and he was always kiting good in strong conditions. So I was a bit nerves about this heat.

Wind have picked up and I decide to take the 7m again. Good choice because I was stacked on it J And so was Rondina hehe. We both had a very hard time doing stuff but in the end I had a few more moves than him and it made me advance another heat.

Now I am against shitshoffer, sorry if not spelled correctly. He beat me in France this year and it still sits in my head so I was nevus about this heat as well. He has been kiting very well in strong winds as well. So the first thing I did in the heat was to do a big move just in front of him so that would make him a bit nervous as well. And it seemed to work because he was crashing the rest of the heat maybe not everything but most. I was crashing a bit as well but I still manage to stay on my board a bit more J And that is what really counts in the competition you don’t always need a perfect heat to win. You just need to kite better than your opponents. In each every heat.

So now I have won tree heats in a row and yes I am stoked J To go from 17th to 7th it feels very good. This heat I go vs Portas, We have been kiting a lot this year against each other and I think we are very close in all competitions so you never know if you won or not until you look at the notice board. Today he had some better stuff and I didn’t make it. You are always a bit disappointed when it goes well for you and then suddenly you are out. But when I think about it now its all good. And I think a 7th place is good to come back to after loosing early in the single.

And the single ladder they where talking about to do I don’t think it is going to happen we don’t have time I think, tomorrow they will finish up the double. And after it think its all over. But we will see if something happens.

So today they finished of the single. And guess who won it yes the same guy who kicked me out Garta. Congrats to him. Kevin second and Aaron third.

They start the double and I was waiting for my time to go and then they decide they will do it tomorrow so there where no competition for me today at all.

Before they started the comp I went out for a session and it was windy like mad. I put my 20m lines on my 7m and I was still way over powered. When you tried to unhook you just flew to the moon. But was still fun you could do some crazy big airs.

The heat starts and I see a jet ski in front of me and I am thinking okay he will move so I go for a front mobe and I land 1m from him and he didn’t move a mussel also he was just sitting there and filming. I was like what the heck is he doing. Anyways next second I forgot about him and continue my riding. I landed some and crashed some and crashed a few to many to be happy in the end. So when I left the water I knew I lost sins I saw Garat land everything he tried. And I wasn’t happy with my performance at all. It was just so hard for me to do anything I was just so powered the kite was playing with me. :)

So after the loos of this heat I am now going in to the double elimination. So this put me into 17th place at the moment. For me to get just into top 10 I need to win 2 heats. And if I lose then I am out.

Another change they have in this competition is that after the double elimination they will do another single elimination. This is because this is a grand slam event you get more points for this event than normal. So tomorrow I think they will run the double and we will see how far I can go.

Fuerteventura day one PKRA

So we are in the first heat to start today. And I didn’t pay to much attention on the watch and the time runs bye fast as hell and I see the flag is up and I still don’t have the kite in the air. I launch it and the green flag is up that means the heat is going already I see Lugar running in the water a bit downwind of me.

So I am also on my way out then I feel there is something wrong with my bar. The lines on this bar was a bit different to the other one I had before so I had to land the kite fast again and set it up fast and as good as possible in minimum time not to loose to much time doing the setup on the kite. Normally I just connect the bar to the kite and its all good. But on the other hand its all my fault I shod have checked the settings right away when I rigged it up sins it was a new bar and kite. Anyways I came in the water and the setting was still bad haha. So I pulled the de power strap maximum de power and the kite where still over sheeting when I unhooked. Sometimes in the gusts it was ok but if the wind was a bit light the kite just wanted to back stall. Maybe I shod tell you the wind was strong for a 7m and in the gust it was really hard to unhook. I manage to land 3 tricks in the heat and I think Lugar did the same amount of tricks just he had some but checks and I landed my stuff clean. So that made me advance. It was really hard to do anything really and very happy to advance ass well.

Then after a while they announced that there where not going to do the second ladder today so whoever advanced where released. Tomorrow I am going against Garat. And I have to get my stuff together and land a lot of stuff against him to beat him.

You never know what will happen and we will see tomorrow ether I will be happy or angry over my heat J If I have a good heat and lose that’s fine, but not if I have a crappy one.

So now its time to relax and get prepared for tomorrow and not being late to the heat and have everything sorted out !!!

Funniest session today in a loong time in Landskrona(sweden)

We had a long day of just waiting for the wind to stay for more than 10 min, The wind only came with the clouds and in between no wind. Very annoying when we are so motivated to go out. I have a friend visiting from Gothenburg Anton. And we are both looking out every 5 min for like 2-3h. And we decide to just go to a spot and try we got nothing to loose :) So we go and the wind seems to be ok, I take my 9m NHP he goes on his old 12m kite.

The session starts out with us trying to stay upwind. Then we come up whit the great idea to just take a downwind down to my place witch is at the other side of the town and you need to go around a small island to make it. That isn't the biggest problem but when the wind is light, and on this island you have big wind generators swinging with their blades trough the air. I don't know how big they are but the kite only reaches maybe half way to the top of it. Anton did a smart thing he went back out to go more upwind of them. I thought ahh its ok i will make it if just the wind stays strong. And ofcourse in between two of them the wind dies so ic ant stay upwind anymore. So i had to trough myself on the board and start body dragging upwind not to hit them.

I wasn't that close to them but still the thought of hitting them wasn't cool. After 5 min the wind came back and we could pass the island. And just after the island there is like 1000 rocks in the water everywhere and its shallow so we where speeding there and just doing slalom between the rocks. Most of them where under water so was no worry.

Anyways after passing that section it was just perfect flat water and then a dark cloud came and the wind went strong i was over rigged on the 9m So we went for big airs and it was really fun just to ride full speed and boost off and scream in the air :) No there where no chance to do any unhooked tricks. After the cloud passed bye the wind lightened up and also the sun came out and the session was completed.

Next thing now was how the heck are we gonna get the car. I just realized i didn't bring my key for the house. We were just laughting and had some crazy ideas how to get there with no one around :) luckily My girlfriend Frida just arrived home so we take off the wet suites and walk with normal clothes. :) was still a long walk but after the session we had it was all worth it :)

And on the way to the car we made a pit stop at the Pizzeria! why not after a great session :)

Tarifa Double!

The best thing is that you don't have to stress down in the morning and pump your kites and get everything ready in 30 min or less :) Now i can just relax take my time and rig everything in a relaxed mode.

Today there was allot of time to eat as well so i have had two lunches as well. They have a really good fruit salad here with yoghurt and other good stuff mixed in it. They must have credit for the fruit salad very very good.

Back to competition the double is going on and the world champ Hadlow climbing the latter and I think i will be going against him again. And that was the case. So there is only 2 heats now before i go against Hadlow again. And i take my 12 just to try it. I just ride 100m and i come back in again. Was to much so ill go with the 10m. Wind is slightly picking up and i think it will be good with the 10m.

Just before the heat the wind picks up even more and now i'm even a bit overpowered. But the heat is up in 30 sec so i don't really want to waist time changing kite in the last second then you get nervus as well and stressed out not good before your heat. So it starts and first trick off back mobe and wow i fly a bit to high and crash the landing not good i'm overpowered. Anyways i try to stick my kite low and i do the best i can. Haldow is pulling of some tricks and i just cant do much i land a few good tricks but most of it are crashes not good. I made my first mobe to wrapped in a heat. At the end of the heat i knew i lost. It is ofcourse ok to loose against the champ but not when you are over rigged so was not happy with my performance in that heat at all. I don't care if i lose if i had a good heat, but when you know you can do much better then you just get frustrated and ask yourself why did i do crap. haha. Anyways I finch 4th and i did win over the camp in the single elimination so it is another good result for me.

Now i have two ninth places and two fours. And it puts me back into the top10. This event i was seeded 7th. And hopefully after this result in Tarifa i will climb a bit closer to the top.

Normally they don't call you up on the podium for the 4th place but here in Tarifa they did so i was up on the podium here. Nice :)

Tarifa Competition!

We have no wind in the morning but this is normal for Tarifa normally the wind picks up in the afternoon. So you don’t know what will happen. After everyone is done with registration we all wait for the wind and the start of single elimination. Sins we don’t have more than 32 competitors here we don’t need to do any trails. From last competition in Cabarate I did 4th so this put me in the 7th place overall. Happy to be back in the game again. :)

The wind starts slowly kicking in and they decide to run some girl heats first. They finish up 2 ladders and then the wind is so poor so the comp is canceled for the day.

Day two and wind already looks stronger in the morning even if the water barely moves. The next heats up will be men’s single wind is still light but they want to get it going so they start even the wind is crap. They decide to run men vs. men because they have a lot of time. But after a while with to many not finished heats they decide to run 4 men heats. I´m up soon and in my first heat I have Rodwald the kid who kicked me out in the double in Venezuela. So I know it was going to be tough to beat him and to my disadvantage the wind was very light at the moment. Luckily the heat before mine the wind started to fill in more. I had my 12m ready and wind was perfect for 12 had good power in the kite so I was happy the wind was with me. The heat was very close I went for power 100% and I knew Rodwald was doing a lot of technical tricks but that he isn’t as power full in the tricks so this is the only way to beat him. After the heat I heard he landed some double handle passes so I thought to myself dam it I probably lose this heat now I will be last in the double and have to work a lot just to come up to top9. But I was right the powered tricks, it made me go through the heat. So very relived im going to next heat.

Now I’m up against Romeo. He have been kiting very stable the last comps and I knew I had to repeat a very good heat to beat him. Sins the judges are very focused on the power. That is what im am trying to bring forward keep the kite as low and go full speed and try to get altitude. This made me win the first heat so ill do same next one. I was so concentrated in my own stuff didn’t see what he was doing but after the heat you always ask your friends what they think and they told me its close but we think you got it. When someone tells you its close anything can really happen. And I’m more nerves after the heat than before when you have to stand there and wait who goes to next round. So my friends where right this time, I won the heat and I move to next one. And there we have Aaron waiting for me.

To go against the world champ you need your best heat and to do that you need to land everything you can do. But so far I had a good day and the wind is still good for my 12m. The plan is to ride a bit harder and just land everything because the judges’ are really looking at the power now. So the heat starts and first trick off Perfect fully powered and I just kept on going. The last min of the heat I go for a kite loop slim I normally never do this trick but landed it perfect and in the last second I made a double backspin to wrapped and fully powered. When I come to the beach my friend tells me this heat is very close you might win. I was very happy just to hear that but I will not believe anything before I see it on the table. So we are both waiting to see the scores. The cameraman comes up and asks me about the heat I’m telling him I had a very good heat and I landed everything. So I’m happy with my heat and hope that I will win it. They ask Aaron how his heat went and he had a good heat himself and he thought that he won the heat. The only thing I was waiting for what the score. And there it comes, I win the heat yes!!!!!!!!! I reached my arms like I would have won the competition J I was so happy hehe To bet the world champ is not easy but it is possible. And this is my second time I win vs Aaron in a heat. He have won all other heats in the past but it feel so great I must tell you.

Next heat is up and now I am going vs Alvaro Onieva. I know I still need to have another great heat to beat him and somehow the wind went funky and was hard to do anything in that heat. And I ended up losing vs Alvaro. The next heat was the final for 3-4th place and it was vs Pastor. The heat was terrible we both crashed a lot in the heat and it was just a bad one. I thought Pastor won for sure but when they called us up later to the podium I came in 3rd! Yes finally podium in the single elimination. So now I have to keep it up for the double and not lose my spot I can still finish 4th.

Mike Wins Vs Aaron In Tarifa!

First going from Cabarete whe had storms comgn and the plane was 1h late. So i almost missed my flight in Miami. I had to run full speed trough everything and i made it just in time 1 more min and they would have closed the gate.

Then final ddestination compenhagen they lost my bags somewhere on the way. And still they dont know where it is.

So i had to pack my old board and th only kites i ahd left at home my 9m and 12m.

Finaly in tarifa First day we had very light wind so they where only running girls heat.

Second day The wind was a bit funky in the beginning but went stronger douring the day and iw as stacked on my 12m.

First and second heat went very well landed most my stuff and advanced.

The third heat was vs world champ Aaron. And this heat i know i had to do better than my best :) so I just had to nail everythng and that is what i did i landed everythng i migth have missed one move but the rest was perfect.

he did have a good heat as well thingk he landed around 14 tricks, Sins they are looking for altitude and alot of power it went my way this time and i won with a 3v2 desition from the judges. When i erd the resoult i dident know what to say i was just so happy :) this is my second time i win over Aaron and it is just so great to beat the best!

Then i was up against Alvaro in the semi final. And we had a very close heat but he wn and i was now in the looser final.

In the final for third and fourth place i was up against Pastor. And was a close one 3/2 desition again and i won it so In singel i finich 3rd!!!!

Awsome im very happy and hope to stay in the podium after the event. I can still drop down to 4th if i loose in the double.

like i said before i will write in more details later when i back home on monday and ofcourse pictures will be there.

Last day of the Freestyle!

Yesterday was a short day for me. I only had one heat going on and that was the losers final. And I was up against the local kid Rondon. The heat is up and I start out good with a lot of tricks and at the end of the heat I had some missing tricks. He was on fire and landed more less everything he did and he won the heat. I wasn’t too sad about it I knew then I had a second chance today. And being 4th after single elimination is always good then you can end up the worst 5th.

Sins I made it so far the day before there were a lot of heats before me. So I was just sitting around and looking at everyone’s heats. And also to see who I think might make it all the way up to my spot. There are a lot of good riders kicking out each other from one heat to the next. So I will go straight to my heat nothing to exiting is happening except for a lot of heats going on all day J so the rider who made it all the way to my spot was Alex Soto one of the locals and also one of the best riders in the world. So I am getting ready and the only thing I have in my mind is to land everything and sins I know he is doing a lot of technical tricks I must go for a lot of power. And the heat starts and I know I have to go full out and land everything, I start out good and land some tricks with a lot of power, then I also do some misses and after the heat I’m not sure if I win or not. So I land my kite and wait for the results and of course I hope I advanced but if I don’t I will still be happy top 5 is good was a long time ago I was in the top and fighting. The wind condition was also good I was riding my 14m but very powered up a 12m would have been perfect. So back to the results and yes Mike Blomvall goes to the next round.

Yeahhhh I’m happy I made it. So now it’s me going up against Rondon again and I feel its payback time hehe. The wind picked up a bit but I was thinking to take the 10m, but decided to try to go for even more power. This heat felt really good at the end as well I didn’t land my hardest move but I was still happy and was hoping for another win. But the judging went 3-2 on his side so it was another very close heat but not on my favor. Anyways I am happy I finish 4th in this competition and that is my best result sins 2006. And I will do my best to stay up here fighting for next events as well. Today its celebrating with my buddies and a big stake is waiting for me J Ciao for now!

Singel Elumination PKRA Cabarete!

Today was a very interesting day of competition. First of all we had very hard choppy water conditions and on top of that the wind wasn’t good all day. We had some good moments with wind but that’s it. And whoever that didn’t have the good wind wasn’t to happy. Well that’s the way it is and we can’t do anything about it. So I will start with my first heat of the day.

I didn’t se the draw so when I came to the beach Madison told me I was going vs Portas I wonder why we always go against each other hehe. Anyways the wind is light I have my 14m ready I se portas takes his 12m. So im thinking this is good for me then I might be able to go more power than him sins I didn’t have any power in my 14 he would have much less in his 12 and also he is on of the heavy riders. So we go out in the heat and I start really far out and as close to the upper buy as I can come, when they start the heat I pull off 3 tricks in one tack so I’m all stoked and think this is my heat for sure. But then after that I was just going more and more down wind and I was really struggling to stay upwind. I crashed some and landed some switch but it all felt really bad and when I came up to the beach I had to get rid of my anger because I know I lost my heat. So I throw my board in the sand and swear a bit for myself and at this moment you don’t want to talk to me haha Anyways I roll my lines in and I think ok I have to do much better in the double. So I sat down for a bit and start talking to Peter and telling him why I was so dumb that I didn’t stay more upwind. In the same moment they announce the winner of the heat and they say Mike Blomvall you advance. Was I surprised ??? hell yes at the same time relived and happy, very happy indeed.

Next heat up for me and I am up against a local kid and let me tell you the Dominican kids they have a very high level. And also the wind is a bit better this heat. So we start off and I do the same thing in the beginning like I did in the heat vs Portas only this time I nailed 4 tricks in the first tack. So yes started off good and the rest of the heat went very well I didn’t crash anything until the end of the heat I missed one trick. So I was happy with the heat. So happy to be back in the game after I thought I lost my first heat.

Third heat Is vs Pastor think he is top5 at the moment. So I think for myself I have to land everything again and I will just try to repeat my last heat. The wind is more less the same. Good powed on the 14m and staying upwind was easy. So I pulled a lot of tricks this heat as wel.l I think I also did all switch but the last trick I did I landed very wrong and I tweaked my knee in a strange way when I riding my legs started to shake I got really scared that I didn’t break something in my knee. I went up to the beach and started to check my knee and I didn’t feel any pain but I felt really insecure just walking on it. And I saw Pastor falling and repeating same tricks in the heat. So felt I might have won it, so I was afraid that if I would be able to ride in next heat or not. So the first thing I do is run to Peter’s bag because I know he’s got a knee brace so I grab one of them and I put it on. And next heat is against the world champ Aaron in the semi final.

Wind is slightly dropping. And I had same strategy like in the other heats start high upwind and pull off 3-4 tricks in the first tack. But hell no ther is only wind enough to pull off one shitty trick half a meter of the water. And after that iw as struggling staying in the competition area. Why they didn’t cancel this heat straight away is something I don’t understand. But this is competition and we both had problems but he still pulls off a lot of tricks and kicks my but to the losers final.

And after the heat they cancel the comp for the day! Well thanks that feels even better right ? haha. Couldn’t wait with this heat then so we at least have a good show? Anyways tomorrow I will be riding the losers final and fighting for 3rd place. So let’s see how it goes and wish me all the best. Today was and are a good day! I think I will celebrate with a big fat steak today! No no pizza had to many of those lately J

The worst trip to Dom Rep Cabarete!

Here is my flying story. So my route is Copenhagen – London - new York – Puerto Plata (Dom rep). So I arrive in Copenhagen and everything is normal. I check in and the lady that checks me in she checks my language all the way to New York be course there I have to spend a night so I need to check my language back in next day. So everything is fine somehow she told me that she could not check me true to New York so I have to check myself in again in London. Witch sucks when you don’t have much time in between the flights. Anyways I land in London and I go straight to the check in of course you need to pass by some security checks and stuff so it never goes on 5 min to just walk from one place to another. So finally there to check in and the lady tells me it is to late and she tells me you have to go to SAS that is the flight I came with. So I go to SAS and talk to them and they tell me that they will help me. So first off they tell me the first connection flights we can get you is tomorrow and the flight from New York to –Puerto Plata you will not make until the day after and that would be the 26th earliest. There were no flights going on the 25th and the competition starts 24th. So do I feel I’m out of luck? Sure do :) So what options do I have I ask them they tell me nothing really. Except if you find another ticket with another company. And you will have to pay it yourself. But that might help you get in time for your competition. So what do I do ,,, yes they help me find a ticket so that ic an arrive there at the 25th at about 14:00 to Puerto Plata. And the skippers meeting for the comp starts 11:00 and the only chance for me to not miss out on the comp is if there is no wind. And I don’t want to take that risk but I’m out of choice. So we get that ticket and they send me to a hotel over the night.

Nice hotel and I barely miss the buffet they have but I made it just in time. So after the meal I go to my room and I fall asleep straight away. The time was about 12 at night. And suddenly I wake up about 2:30 feeling strange things in my stomach. Ohh carp I’m going to puke so I run to the bathroom manage to spot the toilet and there we go. Everything I had at the buffet came out. So I thought. So after that session I went to bed again not feeling all to great. Five min goes bye and now I feel something funny again in my belly. Runt to it again and now it comes from number two. After a while I try to sleep again but noop no sleep and just before going to the airport I go and do another session. So now I’m completely empty. Great feeling NOT!

Anyways so I arrive at the check in and they ask me if I’m feeling ok I guess I didn’t look to well. So then after a while they tell me you have to wait for next flight you are not in shape to travel. Im like just put me on that dam plane so I can sleep. Im at the same time thinking I must get in time to the comp. But no I have to wait another 5h for next plain and in the mean time the send me to the Pharmacia and told me to get some stuff there to get better. So I went there got myself some pills. The pharmacist game me some pills to block the system, something to take away the illness feeling and some stuff for my dehydration sins nothing stayed in there more than 30 min not even water. So I had to mix this thing with water and zip it slowly. So I did I mixed the thing and zip it slowly. After 1h I didn’t feel better at all just worse. And it was time for the WC again. After that I went back to the Pharmacia and told the pharmacist your stuff isn’t working J he then explained to me that 2 dl of mix was suppose to take 2h to drink. Why didn’t he tell me that from the start. Anyways I’m dying of thirst and now I can drink 2 dl in 2h. wow I feel better already. So im sitting there looking at this cup I have, and I feel I could drink 2 l of water right now.

Enough of that time to check in again. And I don’t feel better at all. But this time I have a different strategy to get on the plain she asks me if I’m ok and all I tell her yehahh I feel great the pills really work and I am trying to look good and healthy and I feel like someone just knocked me over or something. So she has to fill in this papers and stuff because they didn’t let me on the other plane and stuff I was standing there for 40min just waiting for here to get all the papers done. 40min of pain I can tell you to try to look normal when you feel you could go and puke any sec. But I know I had to hold it in and somehow I manage not to trough up. So I got myself to the plane and seven hours of drinking 2dl in 2h didn’t feel to good and nothing to eat for me. So I arrive in New York at last and still not feeling to good but much better. So I find an hotel check in and just as I was going to sleep to get my flight next day A friend tells me on skype that there are flight tonight already to dom rep. Plane leaves at 11:55 at night. And I just checked in to the hotel was there for 20 min. And off I go back to the airport. And they had space on the plane and of course I had to pay extra to change the ticket again. Anyways this ticket isn’t to Puerto Plata but to Santo Domingo so I will arrive the 25th at 4:00 in the morning instead off two a clock in the afternoon when the comp started at eleven in the morning. So finally in Domingo 4 in the morning and the taxi is 4h to cabaret. Well what choice do I have. The bus leaves at 5:30 or 6 and that one takes about 5h, and then I have to take a taxi from Susua to Cabaret. About 30 min I think. So I grab a taxi driver and we go. I finally arrive and the comp starts in a few hours. So yes I made it in time finally. And short from the comp my heat started about 14:30 so if I went on the plane that I booked first I would have missed my heat and bought the ticket for nothing. I’m here right now and I’m happy I made it.

The morning starts with waking up at 6:00 and that is not so easy. The first thing we all needed to is to check out form the hotel. Be course the bus was going to pick us up 6:30 sharp. So first stressing up in the morning and then there is no bus. Hmm what is going on, they told us to wait 10m and we wait and wait. And finally a bus arrives but that wasn’t for us. So we are around 10 people waiting for our bus to come and finally there are 2 small busses on the way. Yahh that was for us. So we pack one bus with all our stuff in it and yes why not load everything in the front so that it makes it harder to load in the back after, well the bus driver didn’t have the smartest brain. Hope you understand what I mean :) Anyways everything is in and we are on the way to the harbor. And the drivers have no idea where we are going and it seems like no one on the bus knows where we are going. So we try the new marina. Half way there we get a call from mark and he is asking where are you ? We are almost at the new marina. NO turn around it is another marina I don’t remember the name of it anyways so we turn around and finally there, we are just 2h late. So we load everything on the boat and someone comes up with the great idea do we have any pumps on the boat ? Well I didn’t , and so did every one ells answer unfurtenaly. So we send off Mark to get pumps for us. 20 min later he is back and we are ready to go. Boat starts and of we are at about 9:30.

Later on Mark told us that the first bus driver that was supposed to come at 6:30 he didn’t pick up the phone so we all guess that he didn’t want to drive and sleep instead. Well thanks for that haha

I thought I was going to get sea sick but the boat is huge and doesn’t seem to affect me that much. So that is a very good thing. On the way to our first kite spot I slept most of the way. Finally there and it is looking good. And I recourgnice this place form last year yes I was here with stance we made a video last year wintertime. And this was my favorite spot on that trip so I’m looking forward to kite here again. So the bell rings and it is time for lunch and then out in the water for the first shots. So we load the ding is up and they start transporting us to the beach. Everyone is stoked and the wind is blowing well. It looks like we will be going on 9m. It is about 20-25 knots. We all are having a great day and the cameras are going warm and the video crew is all over the place shooting. It is so nice to see everyone having a blast and after the session you sit down on the beach and just hang out and watch the other riders having fun in the water. After a few hours everyone is tired and we all packing up and going back to the big boat. The dinner is almost done and the crew on the boat is making a good job keeping us happy. They have good food and a lot of it :) then everyone talks about the day looking at pictures and having a laugh about everything.

Every morning the bell rings at about 9:00 then it’s time for breakfast dam it’s so hard to go up after a few days on the boat it feels like you are sleeping all the time and yes you are be course the sun wind and water just drains your energy. We saw some dolphins today swimming around the dingy and some jumped in to try to touch them but I don’t think anyone came that close but they were still very close like 1m or something. They look so sweet those big animals. And not afraid at all of humans. Seems like they think it is fun be course they stayed around for a while. Last few days on the boat have been really cool and hopefully we will be going next year again. Everyone gets to know each other a lot as well so it is like a small family meeting on this kind of trips. I for sure have a lot of new friend after this trip some team riders I never meet before. We are a small group f team riders but it’s cool that ay everyone knows each other. We have Remi he is world champ in snow and on water we have Boris,Lugar,Sofie, Asha and of course Mark and myself. And all of them are really cool. Always nice to be a part of a cool team. If you ever go to Egypt for kiting try to go on a safari its great fun. And even if the safari is great my favorite spot is colona watersport sandbar. First off all you have a compressor to pump your kite and the launching is just 3m from the center where you can sit and relax and have a drink and just hang out. Then you have perfect wind direction to tack out to the sandbar straight away. If there is a problem they have rescue boats so it is all good. Ciao,

Finally we had good wind from the first day :) I have been out kiting every day sins I arrived and the forecast is looking good for the next few days as well so hope the wind keeps up. We are living tomorrow for a safari on a huge boat. So there will be no internet available on the boat and no cell phones ether. So completely off the world.

Today we had awesome wind as well in the morning it was blowing steady strong wind for my 7m, it is not so normal that the wind is stable for a 7m. Then in the afternoon I went on my 9m and it was a bit up and down but in the gusts it was sweet.

I am so happy about my kiting today, very stoked I landed allot of my best tricks, so this was one of the best days in a long time. So this is good you get all motivated and just want to stay in the water doesn’t matter how tired you are you just want to stay out.

The whole Nobile team is here and it was great fun to be out and ride with everyone at the same time this really motivates you as well, yesterday evening me and mark had a great board off session and so I don’t forget to mention the nice one footers. It is not so easy anymore when you don’t do them for a long time it’s a bit tricky to get the board back on your feet hehe.

The new from the trip will be up on Sunday or early Monday. I will also put together a new instruction trick video over the days so this will be released as well. And of course allot of pictures from the trip. Ciao for now!

Wow one of the best time sin sweden is right now. The other day we had steady 20knots and sunny weather about 28 degree celsius.

We dont get to meny good days like this at home, but when they are here, then there is no other spot in the world i would like to go to this is just perfect.I live just 500m from the spot and i can take my bike to the beach with my board and kites on my bike trailer :)

And after a session when i get hungry i go back home leve all my stuff at the beach and i can come back after 2h and the stuff is still there the same as i left them. That is what i call a sweet kite spot. The water is shallow a long way out, and then you have deep water it gets shallow again after 1-2 km. So there is a sand reef and that makes the big waves from the see smaller so we get very good falt water where we kite. Some days when the wind is from the right direction we get super nice small waves to play in. US Wind And Water Open In Corpus Christi (Texas)

in after 30 min and after they run 2 races they decided to ride 2 more. So all the freestylers where very motivated about that decision :) Anyways everyone went out kiting and just having fun.

Today the wind was nuking in the morning I don’t know how much but was strong. The wind lightened up a bit when we started the first heats but it was still more than enough for 7m kites. In my heat I was on my 7m NHP and I was lit. The competition went well for me I had a good day and in all the heats I was consistent and not crashing too much. So in the final we where four people me Rocky,Jessie and John. The wind had dropped during the day and I was on my 12m in this heat. And it was a good day for me and I won the competition. So I am happy and I had a great time here.

The people here are very friendly and most people watching the kiters where impressed by it. And the event her was cool I hope they keep up the good work and keep it going for next year.

There was skippers meeting today at 12:00. And they decided not to start with freestyle but to do race so all freestylers went just freeriding. And its so cool to se everyone just go for it and you see allot of good tricks and wipe outs. Some they almost end up on the beach some they almost hit the djuges tower. And ofcourse there are always tangling going on in the races. That is a good idea not to get into that mes could be very dangerous. The day went very fast and bye the time all the races where done it was starting to get dark so they canceled freestyle for today. So it will go on tomorrow skippersmeeting at 12 first start at 13:00.

My session today was great fun. It was a long time ago now i was kiting in so steady wind. It was a bit shoppy but the wind was just so consistent. So in the beginning of the session i had a hard time landing becourse my brain was not use to all the time you get in the air when its smooth and steady wind :) But after a while it was all good and was good fun all day. We made some pictures and some video i guess it will be kiteforum.com tonight or tomorrow. There is already some pictures and videos form yesterday in light wind.

So competition was late like normal I don’t have to go into details. The comp started at around 13:00. I was up against Cesar Portas today and I knew he was up for revenge sins last competition when I won over him in the single round. I had everything set and I was ready to go not to nervous and felt like I was ready for a good heat. Well it ended up with complete trash from my side the choppy water just didn’t communicate with me at all. Well I ended upp pulling a lot of big crashes and not nailing the tricks at like I had them planed. That is just the way it works some days you have good days some are just not your day. I still have a good chance in the double so the competition isn’t over yet. So will l be back tomorrow and hopefully I will have some pictures up soon. There will also be pictures from Egypt in the next days.

First Day In Venecuela (Coche)

The skippers meeting is set for 10:00 and all the riders are supose to get a boat form Margarita El Yaque to Coche. And of course the boat is late so no riders or any of the crew members could go over in time. And on top of everything all the people didn’t fit on the boat so all the riders where sent first to go over and then the boat would return and pick up the rest of the crew. Well finally around 12:00 the pkra crew finally arrives and the skippers’ meeting was held then. For me it was very good because I landed late the day before and I was happy I didn’t have to do a heat straight in the morning after a long travel. The competition starts around 13:00 and sins they have a good forecast they decided to only do a small part of the ladder today and then some tomorrow and so on. So they were running 2 men’s heat from the start normally the heats are with 4 people, the heats are still men vs. men they just split up the judges in tree and tree and today all 6 where judging actually five judges so there can’t be a draw in the tower. The wind was very smooth and good for my 12m today. It felt strong in between but in the flat water you can go a bit bigger and still handle it. So first heat I am going against Sebastian Garat the world champion form the KPWT tour. I knew from the start I had to ride very good to win. So my plan was I told myself if you want to win you need to go full speed and have full power in your tricks. And it was a good heat for me, normally when you free ride you feel you can just go big, this time it worked even in the heat for me I was very happy. I won the heat. The next heat I was up against Michel his last name i can’t spell so i will not even try. This time I had the good luck on my side and I landed almost everything again in this heat missed maybe 2 thing but was still ok the rest of the tricks went smooth and nice for me. This heat went good for me as well and I won. Tomorrow we continue with the single elimination so I will come back with some more news then.

Me and Jessica the manager of the Colona center decided to make a photoshoot in the morning but we changed that plan quickly again haha, Anyways so i'm already in the water for 1h and she get ready to take some shoots and of course close to the beach its gusty and it doesn't work at all to iter jump or take any shoots so we decide to try for an evening session.

So after the first session today i just hang out on the beach with an old crazy friend form Italy but he lives in egypt. He is great fun to speak with if you meet him you will know what i mean :) We have a big burger and then we just relax for a bit in the shade. What i really like here is that you are 4m from the water when you sit at the restaurant. Also you have a compressor to pump your kites but don't use it to much you might get lazy like some peopel here. :)

So after the resting and all the wind seems to have drooped a bit. So there is none out at the moment i'm thinking if i should go on 14 or not. So i wait and i wait and then the wind dies even more so i'm like damit its over for today. But luckily the wind started again after who hours and i could go on my 9m again. Sweet!

So i'm out the kiting and having an awesome time and then Jessica comes out with her camera. And we start making some shoots and believe it or not we got some really good shots this evening so we will go home soon,,,, i hope i'm starving right now :) And what isn't better than a big Pizza after a good session ?? So now i'm just waiting for Bengan to get back to the center pick us up and go eat :)

El Gouna no wind !

It has been very hard days till now very hard in the pool area and also the tennis i think i will go pro. The pizzas are good here as well :) Even with no wind you can still do allot od stuff,,,, I went all the way to the pool wow that was hard work haha.... And the tennis vs Niklas was so good it think i can go for it. I just lost 6-0 6-0 6-1 but i felt i had it :)

haha well my serves wasn't to good they went allot in the net but there must have been something wrong with the balls and the racket was a bit strange. So if i had proper stuff i think that would do all the difference don't you ?

Anyways i'm having a great time here and the Niklas and Nettan are taking good care of me. And they have a beautiful big house very nice. Maybe we will go snorkeling tomorrow or something hope to see some big fishy fishy,,,,, And if i'm lucky the wind may kick in on sunday so lets hope it does and enjoy for now,,,, ciao

So we actuarly manage to get the breakfast served at the hotel today. The wind is strong today very strong. I am rigging my 7m NHP with 20m lines. So the time is about 12:30 and it is time for my heat. In the beginning of my heat the wind drops a little bit so its hard do get any good jumps. But in the end of the heat the wind picks up and it goes better for me. I manage to land some good tricks. So i was happy with my heat and when i went up from the water i thought it went well. But when i looked at the table i lost the heat. So i end up on 9th place.

So next comp i will just have to go for it more and try not to crash at all.

Next up for me is Egypt, I will write some reports on that as well. There will be some pictures up as well from France tonight.

where no wind and then you have a check every hour for the wind so you don't miss the wind picks up. Then they said that the wind will pick up and they had freestyle on stand by be course they weer doing racing first if the wind decided to come in to shore. So we went for breakfast and it ended up with a nice kebab. Then the wind kicked in and they decide to go with the race and freestyle was still on standby. So we wait a bit on the beach and just talk to everyone there. Nothing much is going on and after some time they say that the freestyle is on for tomorrow the forecast looks very strong. So we go and chill out for a bit, meet with some riders and just hang out for the rest of the day. We will for sure sleep early today and get ready for the action tomorrow.

Bahhh we could have had another hour of sleep. Anyways the worst news this morning was that they had trails, and i was of course in it sins i didn't do the first stop in mexico. I was very nervus i was thinking think if i don't make it to the main event even. The wind was very gusty and i went on my 9m Nhp some times you had allot of wind and then you couldn't even go upwind. Even with the hard condition i made it to the main event their where only 1or2 people that didn't make it so i was happy it wasn't me :) The single elimination started just after they finished the trails. The wind was picking up and i didn't know first what kite to chose but i went on the 9m again and it was all good still hard conditions but i landed all the tricks i tried so i as happy and that made me go to next round. The second round i had to take my 7m sins the gusts where allot more than before this heat everything was much harder the wind stronger more gusty and less landed tricks. But i still made it trough and am i happy now:) The third heat didn't go to well at all i landed like two tricks and the i was bunny jumping the rest of the time and i didn't get it right at all. Thats the hard thing you have 7 minutes and you need to make the tricks then. For my first event this year i am happy i will be at least on the ninth place. I can still advance in the double and position myself better. It is going to be tough but i will be ready tomorrow and give it all I have. I hope it will be warmer be cause today i have been freezing all day the air temp is about 20 when the sun is there and without the sun 15 and the wind is cold, and it definitely doesn't help to stand in a wet wetsuit :) So tomorrow its time for the double elimination so i will tell you all bout it when its over. ciao for now!

Theese days was one of the best onec in a long time for me :) It makes it up a for the whole stay here. The conditions here are normally very hard windy like hell and choppy. But now a few days we had consistent wind and good for a 9m. Yesterday it started to pick up again so i went out on the 7m NHP but it was still ok for the first hour then it got to strong again haha. Today i will just relax pack all my gears and watch the people get blown away sins it feels like it will be around 50 knots today. You can here the wind trough the house.

I leave today so it will be a good day to rest. And i will be in France tomorrow i will be waiting Peter and Alex in the airport in Barcelona then we will go from there to Leucate.

I will also write an report every day of the competition of what is going on and so on.

Great Day In Tenerife!

The morning was calm and nice no stress and for the moment no wind when you looked out of the window. So the day stars fine with a big breakfast and a walk down to the beach. Me and Frida we decided to go paddling sins the wind was 0 knots and sunny. We also decided to take some snorkeling gears with us. And ended up snorkeling for like 1h and we didn't realize the wind picked up. Then suddenly the wind is and i'm getting all nervus and starting to paddle like mad and of course i fall in the water every 50m hehe, We went on a big surfboard with a paddle and with two people on it it gets very unstable. And also allot of fun.

Finally back to the Shinn center, and everyone where gone to the other beach. And to go there will all equipment would take like 30 min. So i decided to go home and just eat and miss out the wind. Half way home I stop and realize that maybe i shod go anyways so i turn around and walk back to the center and i see a kiter in the water just outside the center and its my team mate Lugar. I run in take my gears and run to the beach pump my 12m NHP and full speed out in the water. The wind was perfect for the 12 in some gusts a but to much but flat and nice water, sins the wind was coming from the opposite direction to the normal wind here.

It was my best session here in 6 weeks and if i would have gone home,,,,,, wow i'm glad i went back :) Hopefully we will have the same wind next 2 days.

A day without 35+ knots

The wind have just been nuking over the last weeks I have been on ether 7m or 5m kites. It is very hard to go freestyle on them but its is good practice and definitely very hard on your body. Normal you can stay in the water longer but here with the strong wind and waves it really kills your energy fast. So we are lucky we have a small chop outside the center where you can bye fresh baguettes. And if you want to go for dinner there is a place just next door. And they have wireless internet if u wanna use it. Everything here is very close i like the place allot. You don't need a car or scooters. And the people here are very relaxed and nice here. Don't know if i mentioned it before but what is cool is that you see allot of windsurfers and kiters at the same place and they actuarly get along in the water that is cool.

From 7m kite to 10m kite. I said before i like the 7m yes i do but the 10 is even nicer maybe is it be course you don't need to beat yourself every time you miss a trick hehe, The 10m NHP is such a sweet kite it is very fast, it have massive depower and if you like kiteloops it is doing the work very good for you. The turning speed is so smooth and it generates consistent power doing the turn. When i ride i work the kites very hard up and down to get the speed up fast. When doing that you can on some kites feel that they stop for a split second and then the kite speeds up the NHP gives you pull trough the turns. I like that i also like to do transitions and when you do a 900 transition you want to know where the kite is and have a consistent pull so you don't get the second lift in the middle of the landing^^ The kites also fly far out in the wind window so you go upwind very easy.

And so far i the kites are in one peace, i drop the kites like 50 times a day in the waves they get messed up in there and then i need to got o the beach and fix the lines hehe. They have been on the rocks a few times as well luckily the rocks aren't sharp but the waves still push the kite over them sometimes. The hang time in the kites are just amazing i'm not saying it just to say it. if you see me somewhere i will let you try the kite and see for yourself. They re just really great kites and they have been working allot on them to make them as good as they are. Anytime anywhere you can try my kite just ask. ^^

The safety system on the bars work so good even if they are full with sand on them they still release. And i was skeptic to the chicken loop in the beginning being all plastic but so far i haven't broken one. And there is good places for the leash to be connected. I had a few times weer the leash came undone when i didn't want it to and i hate that then you need to run after your kite fast :) The safety on the leash is very easy to pull and somehow i get it undone doing my tricks. But it is better that it goes of easy then not at all. The chicken loops safety is also very easy to pull and sometimes when i want to grab it and put it back on my harness hock it releases it self not cool. But this problem was easy to fix a bit of ducktape and the safety goes off harder. Is till goes off so no worries.

We had a fun session just pulling of allot of different kinda tricks In the beginning i was just trying to get as high as possible and just go for the loop :) Was really cool to see some huge airials with the skimboard i don't know how he keeps the board on his feet when he's flying 2-3 m in the air. He told me the secret you have to go faster than the wind so yes in 35knots go faster than the wind and just be a man hehe. Myself i went for some big loops never been into looping so much but i had a really good time. After a while it felt like the wind drooped a bit and went very steady. So i started to go for some powered freestyle moves. Sometimes when you unhook you get a nice good nice pop and the next time you might fly away. The Kites are very good in the handling i mean you really feel where you got the kite and that is very important for me. Hopefully we got some good footage today and hopefully more next days. Also the video from Australia Perth is coming up soon.

Last session in WA!

We have had a few days now with very good steady wind for 10m kites. You really notice when the wind isn’t to strong or to light that you lend allot even if you haven’t landed so much, but when you then kite in good wind wow it’s just so good you are just on fire landing everything you try hehe :) Anyways the spots around there are amazing some secret spots you aren’t allow to speak about and some known to everyone, I haven’t been around as much as I was hoping. You need to drive for like 10h to come to paradise it is tempting but when you then have good wind around the corner you get a bit lazy :)

But it has been a great winter in Australia and I have been lucky to get to know most of the local riders around here and they are all very help full and nice to you. They try to scare you with some stories sometimes about sharks but they aren’t true J I haven’t seen one single shark in 3 months. I have seen and kited over dolphins but that is the biggest animal I’ve seen. I have also seen a snake some lizards and kangaroos of course. My friend victor form Poland was not so lucky with a poison fish he stepped on one day we where kiting, he told me it was stinging in the whole leg so he left to the hospital and when he arrived they just said there is no cure for this. So he could just go home and make the pain disappear slowly.

Last two days now we decided to just chill go to the town and find some nice things to bring back home. Finally I sold the car and that as the biggest issue for me if I would not be able to sell it I would have a car stuck in Australia J It have really been a nice experience here and I will see when I come back next time. For sure I will one day.

So after three month now it feels good to finally be on the way back home. It’s always nice to see your friends and go out for a pizza hehe, Also if something changed in your town. Normally it looks the same hehe.

So we also had some good filming down here. Hopefully I will finish the new video within a few weeks. There will also be some new photos on the page soon. And I will not be home for long after a few days I will be on my way to Tenerife for some more filming and photos.

The Kicker and Slider Jam at Woodies

This Jam was so sweet, to have all of the rider ensemble down there. Toby and they guys had built a big Kicker, real big Slider and also an C-Rail, so very big credit to them. Unfortunately wasn't the slider and the c-rail something for me but the kicker was really good ,even though if I didn't hit the Sliders it was fun just to be sitting on the beach and look at all of the other guys hit it. It was really fun to do something different for a day. Allot of people was down just as spectators, not everyday it´s so crowded down there. Small road trip to Cervantes!

On the way to Cervantes we looked at googel maps so that we would have everything planed already. It starts off with that when we are on the way out from perth I manage to drive back same way we came from hehe, Sometimes you get so confused about the signs here i was following road nr 1 and somehow i made a wrong turn and i wasn't paying attention that the sign said south. So finally on the right high way we hope to se some animals. On the way there we didn't se much except for allot of nature and a long freeway.

Finally closing in to the beach, wind is up and i'm getting exited to go in the water. Seems good for 10m kite. Perfect and nice color of the water. Water is waist deep and warm with no sign of any sharks.

Kite Jam Competition In Saftey Bay

Unlike any competition i have been to before. No judges sounds strange but this worked really well also. Instead of people sitting all day and judging all the riders got a vote for 1,2,3,4 place and 1,2 for females. Now you didn't only kite now you had to see which one you thought was the best in the water. So about the whole day we where kiting 5 people in every heat. And after one round on the table they switched the names around so everyone kited with everyone. And if you needed a break you could just remove your name and put it on hold so you could go into the next heat or the next again. So this way everyone where so relaxed and it was a really fun jam competition.

The wind was kicking ion and it was getting hard to do any powered moves at all so we saw allot of big airs and crazy kiteloops. Also board offs and some cool crashes hehe.

After the competition everyone sat down and got a drink or five :) So we voted and on finally all votes weer done and i finished second :) Very happy about my result and the prices where very nice to. I am also thankful for them inviting me to the competition. Looking forward for next Jam session.

To have the cold isn't to bad but when the nose is just rinning you get so sore and cant use it anymore. I was staying at home for 2 days to get over this flue or cold i had. I didn't look any better after the 2 first days then yesterday evening someone gives me a magic pill for fluid. And she told me it will go over till next morning. I was like yeah whatever its not going to work but to prove you wrong i will take one.

Funny thing is when i wake up next day my nose isn't rinning a drop, hmm i don't know what to say but i'm happy to be free from it. I never thought it would work that efficient.

Anyways this morning after my fluid is gone I need to fix my car sins the water was leaking the other day and that is no good. If you have bad luck you will end up stranded on the road somewhere with a overheated engine and you cant fill the water up be course there is a leak somewhere. To find the leak i started the car to see where it might spray water. Hmm nothing anywhere so i take off some of the water cables and try to see if they are broken but nope cant find anything. So after a while i put everything back on again and tighten all the hoses harder maybe they weren't tighten enough. So i start the car and no leaking i'm like yeah good work but then i stepped on the gas. LOL now it was spraying water all over the place there was a small hole in the water hose luckily i could just cut of a pise and put it back on and that was it hehe. Very easy when you find the problem isn't it.

Later this day we decided to go shopping. We first went to pick up victor in coresloe and after we drove straight to the mayers shopping center. When you are not from around its not always easy to find the best roads straight away so we where driving around for a bit just to find it. Finally on the mall we had a really good time i bought some small speakers for my laptop so i can play some music and watch videos without having to stay 1 cm from the computer speaker.

After like 2h my feet are dead and my back is hurting shopping is not so easy its hard work definitely if you go with two girls. I'm just saying they want to look at all clothes shoes and stuff. Sometimes you have to pull them out of the store to be able to go away from there. It wasn't to bad we had some shopping to do all of us so it all added up pretty equal. Anyways back home to drop of Frida and My sister Sandra. I had to drive Victor home as well.

Finally at his place i'm tired and just want to go home. Just as i am about to leave his place i see his got a flat tire. I'm like you have to fix that tomorrow in a gas station or something. He's like Mike can you come tomorrow and help me, yes of course. The i think again and hmm do you have a reserve tire in the back of your car he goes, Yes i do, OK then we fix it right away. And there we where sitting in the dark changing tire hehe. But it went well no complications. Then i went straight back home.

it was a good day today allot of my friends where kiting and everyone had a good time just jumping doing tricks all over the place. Also a bit sore after allot of crashes also my neck auuhhh hehe. that just comes with all the fun tricks you can do :) I also manage to tangle my kite some times today. After 2h of kiting this evening i was totaly wasted. There is another day tomorrow hopefully with allot of wind again.

Today we also fixed our self a big bed for our single where we live we have been sleeping in a 90cm bed 2 persons it is just not woking :) Unless you sleep on top of etch other hehe, Anyways to get this 140 bed to the apartment was not the easiest thing to bring home if you don't have a car big enough. We had to put the bed on the roof and we drove on the highway with it. We had no ropes to fix it with so we had to take a kitebar and rap the lines all over the car. So then if you wanted to go out of the car you had to go the window way. Thats also when we found our mascot:)

Finally we have a huge bed now and tonight we are going to sleep like rocks.

The birds are crazy, First day we went to the pool area and i felt something on the back of my head, then i turned around and there is this small birds attacking me :) I don't know why they are doing that but i guess it has its territory around that tree or something. I will try to catch it on a picture next time hehe. It is funny this small animal and you get so scared from it when it comes behind your head and attack you hehe

They have another cool thing around here in australia. Instead of people trow their old furniture, beds, wash machines and so on they have special days every year that they bring their stuff just outside their house, and people can drive around and take whatever they need. I think its a good thing.

Australia (Fremantle) first day in the water!

This was a good feeling after a long time not been in the water :) Was a very good today blowing perfect for 9-11m kites,

Two days ago when we arrived we had panic nowhere to sleep and no car, We took two days of extreme search. The first day we arrived at midnight. I thought its easy to find a place for the night. I was wrong, everything we found was ether closed or fully booked. The last option we had was a hostel and we tried to knock on the door no answer finally there was someone coming, He opened the door and we went in i thought he was working there but no he was just a guest and no one around the office. The taxi had left and we where inside this hustle with no room. And the time was now 01:30 at night. We found a sofa in the lobby so we decided to sleep there. This hostel is the worst i have ever seen mouses running around everywhere and it sounds like someone is crawling in the walls. So i didn't sleep at all that night. Next day we decided to find another hostel but everything was fully booked. So we had to go back to this crap hostel book one night there and now we where getting desperate. The last place we would like to stay is here. So we went everywhere asking everyone about any accommodation and finally we found some good internet pages with people renting out apartments and houses. We got as many numbers we could and started to call. But before we could come and se the apartments we needed a car. So we had two missions in hand :) Luckily i meet a friend on the beach when we where just there to see how the place was like. So Victor he helped us drove us around and fixed so we could find a car to a very good price and helping us with all the small things that are very big when you have no clue. So after 3h we had a car and where on the way back to fremantle. The first apartment we went to see where in Murdoch and just to find this place was a mission nr tree hehe, But after 1.5h searching we found it. And now we stay here finally we said and laid down and we fell asleep right away.

Today I went kiting and it was a perfect day sunny strong wind and flat water perfect for freestyle. The beach is big and it seems like people don't tend to kite all at the same spot here so it is not so crowded. You can find good wave spots also, i guess we will be heading there some days also. But for now i will be kiting in flat water and off shore at woodmans point.

here we can train allot of moves, spins and flips. We where planing to take a kiteboard and jump from the window but i think its to dangerous hehe :) Anyways we always find something you shouldn't do like jumping from the roof top down on the big madras and other fun stuff. With the trampoline you can have so fun don't really have to do anything special its the lift and hang from it in the air that makes it feel really cool. The best thing is that they have protection all around it so if you fly out its no big deal.

unless you fall off on the wrong side :) we also had an idea to somehow connect a big huck on the roof but how to get up there 8m high we don't know. We will see maybe we find a way to make it and then it will be like kiting in house haha

I will make a small videoclip next time. guess next weekend.

Mike The Knife Is Back!

We still have around 20 days at home before we leave off to Australia (Perth).

I'm really looking forward to it to come to the warm and windy west cost of australia. everyone that have been there have told me its super nice and good kiting. I sure hope so hehe, On videos and pictures it looks fantastic. I will let you know as son i'm down there. For now i will continue kite here in the cold. And finishing rebuilding my bathroom :) Yeahh believe it. It takes alot more time than you expect. But hopefully it will look nice when its done :)

Germany Border cross - Freestyle

Today they started with Border cross because the wind was not good enough for Freestyle in the morning. After having to go up 7:30 for the skippers meeting you don’t feel like doing anything this is just to early hehe. Luckily I wasn’t in the first heat of the border cross so I had time to wake up. Two sandwiches and a hot chocolate are the perfect breakfast. First heat went pretty well and I advanced to next round. My legs where like spaghetti after my first heat. How would I ever be able to make moiré heats if I advance haha. Well after a fiew heats I was in the final. The final was fun Kevin was screaming behind me hoping for me to look back and fall, bad mistake for him and somehow he tangled his kite and dropped it. I was at the lead after the first turn. Then I was battling vs sky going upwind to the next one, we tangled our kites just at the buy and finally we got untangled and he made it over the dam buy I had to turn back and go back upwind to go around it. Was still nerves not to make it because Kevin and the other competitor in the final was gaining up on me now after their tangle. I still made it in second place and I am very happy about that.

After two hours they started with the freestyle the wind have increased and I was on my way out with 9m Prima Donna 2. First time riding it and felt so dam good to be on a stable and powerful kite. I don’t like to do kite loops normally but with this kite was just so natural. First heat went good I laded lots of good tricks. Second one I had a very good heal landing everything. The third heat vs Rui Meira, we both landed equally amount of tricks and I was hoping to win but he got me there with one move or something. Anyways I was happy with my heat and yes you always feel you can do better but you can only do your best. This was a good day for me second in Border cross and 9^th in Freestyle. Now its chill time and tomorrow we all watch the finals.

Finally we have wind this morning. Not enough to start with the freestyle so off they go with the racing. After two heats of race the wind started to pick up. I went out on my 13m just to warm up a bit before they started the freestyle. Wind was good and I had an awesome warm up landing a f mobe to pass. Then they start the comp and everyone is getting ready for their heats. Also before it starts we do draws on who go against whom. There are only 12 spots already seeded. So whoever it not top12 in the ranking will have a lottery draw on what seed you will end up on. You always want a good draw this helps a lot to make a good result. For example if you are new and you have to go against someone high up in the ranking you will probably be kicked out the first round. Lucky for me I only got the world champ in m second heat so I didn’t loose straight away hehe. I had a good heat wasn’t landing everything but was happy with my performance and it was very windy, was over powered some times with my 8m. Just before our heat they stopped the comp for some time because it was raining so much the judge’s couldn’t see us in the water.

Now I am waiting for the double elimination to happen so I can climb it a bit. At the moment I am on spot 17. Hope that it will change tomorrow. Lets hope for sunny and windy weather.

Germany !

Two days and no wind so far, but we have a good forecast for the end of the week. Just from sitting down and waiting all day long you get tiered even more tiered than when you have wind and can go out and kite. Lucky we have a good riders tent here and there are tv so you can see dvds and just hang out in the sofas. The best part is they have food all day long :) First we get breakfast then lunch and ice cream hehe,

There are allot of other things on the event site, you can walk around and play games in the different tents. They have clothing everywhere and you can even style yourself :) I had my hear fixed haha don't try that one. You also find allot of food around the area big hot dogs and huge pancakes with nutella.

hope for wind the next days so we can have some action!

Long story short.

First off from copenhagen airport to munich then to madrid and then to lanzarote. Finally in lanzarote i had to get on a bus that was going to the other side of the island so i could come to the city weer the boat was going from to fuerteventura. I didn't make the last boat so i had one interesting night in lanzarote. Finally next morning same day as the competition starts I was a bit nervus becourse i didn't know how to get from the boat to the competition in time. First i ran the the city with my bag trying to find a rental car place nothing there early in the morning. Run back to the harbor and find a rental car place there but no cars. Then i found a bus going to the airport of fuerte so i went there found a car rental and drove as fast as possible to the comp. I thought i was going be late. But finally on the event site nothing was going on with the freestyle they started with the race first pheew :;)

Tarifa 2007

From Sweden to tarifa.

The trip to Tarifa went well until I got to the airport in Malaga where I had to take a taxi that was fucking expensive, just because I forgot my driving lance at home “stupid”.

The competition didn’t start of until late the first day and it was really good wind. Was out on my wt2 13m. The two next days it was super windy Lets say around 40-50 knots and one day they stopped the comp be course the gusts where hitting close to 60 knots. It was almost like surviving out there, my five was nearly too much for me but it was fun and good experience.

The food was pretty good this year compared to last year but still not the best. I always say to myself how hard can it be to make decent food on the competitions? Ether we get sweaty sandwiches or baguettes do they really think a sportsman can perform 100% in the competition with a soggy sandwich for the whole dam day? Well I cant, and bringing your own lunch bag to the comp as the president of the PKRA told me once, my god can you believe that we compete in the world tour and we are suppose to take lunch bags with us. I wonder if they do that in other sports. Haha don’t think so.

I stayed at a place near the competition for three days and the day when I had to leave I discovered there was a swimming pool so I didn’t use it at all. Bummer hehe

And every where I was going I had to lift, to expensive to take a cab, could have walked but it was to hot and to long. But in the end I felt lifting wasn’t so hard. And you get to talk to a lot of different people.

For the future to follow the results live go in to the extreme element banner there is a live result ladder for al the heats.

To go up against hadlow is always a big challenge. Nr 1 in the world. But you always give 100% and more if you can hehe In the end I finished 13^th not to happy about it but its always like that hehe When I look at the results now its ok In that wind anything can really happen. People getting lines snapped and some doing multiple kite loops in the gusts and some jumping 20m high.

Pizza is a favourite I must tell you out of 9 days I think we had pizza 8 days. China food one day its good but pizza kills it.

Sweden home spot!

First up i book ticket to new york and that works fine. Then when i try to pay the ticket from new york to cabarete the ask for some codes i don't have on my card. So i decide sins there is allot of planes leaving from NY i will just go there and bye the ticket when i arrive. Sounds good to me but didn't work out as planed.

Finally i come to the airport to check in. And she tells me you cant go to new york without an hotel or ticket from there to Cabarete. I mean i got an return flight 1 week after but that didn't matter. So i asked them to help me but not so interested to do that but i stand there and fight for like 1h and then the plane leaves. They didn't even want to login to internet for 1 min and find me an hotel that i could book so i didn't miss my flight. But nope no help from KLM airlines. There was nothign to do but to accept and go back home.

Then we had some good wind at home. managed to meet up with some friends and kite and took some photos. The whole day i was on the beach. Normally the wind isn't up all day so you have to take all time you can when the wind is there:) After 4-5h in the water i gave up was totaly happy with the day and exhausted. I will put up the pictures in the gallery in a few days.

The competition was in Båstad in sweden. it is a very nice place. We didn't get any wind but we had other things to do. The organizers arranged so we got to play beach volley. We had a good time playing and everyone was having fun. Later on they had a kicker competition whoever made the biggest trick wins. It was really fun and allot of people was sitting on the side to watch everyone go for it on the kicker. All he riders decided in the end who was the winner and happy to announce one of my fiends won it Claes, Second was me it was all fun and in the end we got some t shirts and first price was a mini motor bike. Will try that one day :)

Italy Day 5

I’m not really a morning person. Hehe So going up 9:30 is not easy, but I am up and ready to go to the beach. Finally the competition site, no wind at the moment but we have to be ready because my heat is up very soon if they start. I sit down to relax in a sofa and suddenly the wind just comes from nowhere.

And its time to go pump the kite. The wind is increasing so I pump my 13m and 10m kite. Time is going fats and its time for my heat I’m going against Cesar. Take my 13 and there the signal go.

In the water I’m a bit nerves just before the flag turns green. After that I don’t think abut that anymore then its just to go for it. It feels good and when I come to the beach I’m happy with my heat was not the best heat ever but good enough to win my heat I thought. But then they announce the winner of the heat and it is Cesar. Was a bit angry in the beginning that I didn’t make it but that is competition.

Was noting to do but I went up top the tower to see the judges paper want to see what I need for next time to beat him. I looked at the papers and it was a close heat. Well now I know what to do next time. But even if you know what to do its very hard to do it all and don’t crash hehe

Anyways after all I’m very happy with a 5^th place. Now its time to go back home and practice.

I will also do weekly updates on how it is going in Sweden.

Italy day 4

In the morning my cell rings around 9:00 I cant answer because I’m on a Swedish cell phone would ruined me in 2 min hehe

Went back to sleep and of course someone nocks on the door. Well there was my sleep hehe

We didn’t expect wind but wind was up so I went down to the beach to see how much wind it was, and se what kites I had to pump up. Luckily I found a compressor so I decided to pump all my kites just in case. Other wise I would have skipped the 10m hehe. Cant be to hard on yourself in the morning.

After that I went to the small shop the have on the beach and order a sandwich they have very tasty ones here. So this was a nice break fast. The breakfast at the hotel by the way is impossible to eat the bred is so hard you can’t even chew it haha Almost no one goes there to eat.

I went out for a bit to warm up was perfect wind for my 13m wild thing2, had a good morning session. After my session I have been sitting on the beach all day and just waited to go on my heat. Of course nerves I didn’t even have a clue whom I would go against so it is fun to see who it will be. I still don’t know who it will be but I know its going to be ether Cesar or Rui. I think Rui wants rematch. Doesn’t matter whoever I will go against it will be very hard. I will have to nail all my tricks to make it to next heat. We will find out tomorrow. Competition was over for today after the wind died.

Back in the hotel room I’m just waiting for dinner. I don’t think it is hard to guess what it will be PIZZA! Haha

Italy day 3

Forecast wasn’t looking good for Friday so I decided to sleep a bit longer if the wind didn’t pick up. So I woke up around 11:30 hehe totally sour from the day before. I went to the event site and like everyone expected no wind and everyone is sitting around talking and just chilling waiting to be released from the competition area. You never know if the wind comes so we have to stay around until the race director tells us the competition is cancelled for the day.

Not a lot is happening these days with no wind. Everyone is a it tired I guess, and you get bored very fast. I was waiting for the lunch we get at the event site and today it was salad and pasta what ells can you expect when you are in Italy maybe pizza hehe but they have good food.

After lunch I went back to my hotel room and fell a sleep for 2-3h. after that dinner pizza of course and back to bed.

So most of the day I have been sleeping now I’m ready for wind again hehe

I Guess everyone is. We still have 3 more days and they are saying we will get wind tomorrow. Lets hope so

Italy day two

We have the riders meeting at 7:30, and first possible start at 8:30. Luckily someone nooks on the door in the morning to borrow a wetsuit from Peter. I would have slept longer J Finally out of the bed on the way to the beach someone picks me up on the road, and it is the gay who I gave my kite to fix it for today. Yeahh all good my kite was fixed. I had an apple in the car and when I arrived I got so carsick I had to trough up the apple again. I guess is was becourse I was nerves to, 30 min later I had to run to the bathroom. Guess it was the pizza from yesterday.

The wind was up and blowing from 20-25 knots. Anyways on the competition days I pump all the kites I got with me you never know if the wind drops or suddenly increases. The tree kites I have here is 16.5, 13 and the 10m 2 boards always one in reserve in case something breaks on the one I’m riding. Totally wasted After pumping the 16.5 hehe. I was also afraid to eat something now if I would trough up again.

First they had some local Italian qualifier be course there where not enough places for everyone in the main event. Competition starts and I still didn’t eat anything. First heat I went out against Sylvester, the water was choppy and hard to get your landings right. I didn’t crash as much as him hehe so I went trough to next heat. Next heat was against Alvaro to be honest when I came from the water I was not happy with my heat and I actually went up to Alvaro and told him hey congrats, then he told me no you won. I thought I lost but I didn’t see his tricks so I guess I nailed a few more tricks then J Very happy at this moment to come this far. Next heat up against Rui this heat I had a very good heat landed all my tricks and a lot of switch tricks( switch same trick but on your opposite side). Forth heat up vs Aaron world champ 2006. I lost in the semi final vs Aaron he is a very good and stable rider. So from semi final till losers final. Now I go against Zoon wind was dropping so we went on big kites I was on my 16.5 but after the whole day of competing and no energy left, its really hard to land anything J Still very happy I end up 4^th in the single elimination. And now we wait for the double to start.

Italy first day

First when I wake up I go to break fast and what do we get so hard bread you cant even chew it J Great!

Then it was time to find out if my packed from JN arrived. Went to reception and yeahh there is was my bran new 10m wt2.

We went to the beach and first thing start pumping my new 10m.

It is windy very windy I’m almost over rigged on my 10m but its all right im riding for an hour and then it happens I drop the kite to close to some rocks and I didn’t get it up in time to save it from getting stuck there, first thing I do is letting go of my bar as soon I see the kite is laying there. Someone is trying to help me get it off the rocks. And I guess he dident think he just pulled one side of the kite and started running with it trying to not rip it. But I was unlucky and it ripped all over the place. My new 10 brand new was destroyed.

At first i was very angry that I didn’t scream t him to wait for me to come out of the water. But after a while I calm down and luckily I found someone at the spot who was repairing kites.

Next morning I had the kite ready 7:00 cost me 50 euros very cheep for such a fast and repairing is looking good.

I really wanted to kite so I made a bar with 19m lines and went out on my 13m wt2. Was very over rigged but it did work to kite with it J Nothing to recommend but when you have no other choice and really want to kite you do this J

After the session we went for a nice and big pizza was all a good day after all J

And next morning we start 7:30 with the skippers meeting. Have fun!

SWE Landskrona (Lundåkra)

This spot in Sweden is called Lundåkra bukten (Udden).

This is very close to my home and one of the best spots, when there is wind :) It was just a very nice day to be on the beach allot of friends you mostly meet up when u are kiting. The wind was not so strong today but still enough to get people exited on the beach. I went out on my WT2 16.5m and my 129*39.5 Jn board. was working good to stay upwind the wind wasn’t really enough to do anything ells. The fist dip in the water was refreshing hehe. Nacho my dog was there and like always she likes the water and to run after the kiters in the shallow water.

The only scary scenario today was a kite in the trees i just turned around and there the kite was stuck in the top of the trees. No one got hurt or anything and the kite came down safe.

Venezuela Competition!

In Venezuela. First day of kiting we had good wind and allot of people in the water. It is always a pleasure to kite with all the other pros. It is still two weeks before the competition and everyone is practising hard on new moves. Second day of kiting for me I went on it a bit to hard and I injured my foot I tweaked my ankle and had to rest 5 days. Slowly starting to kite again and not being able to kite 100%, think this is one of the hardest things to do go out in the water and just take it easy. But I had no choice but to take is easy sins my foot was still hurting. A few days before competition I took some rest to hopefully have my foot ready. I was mistaken and my foot was still hurting even in the competition day.

The first day of competition we didn’t have any wind everyone where just hanging out at the beach and in the pool at the hotel close bye.

Second day of competition same story no wind.

Third day and the competition moved from Coche Island to Isla Margarita El yaque. Finally a day of wind. First heat up against Ruben len10. Wind is very gusty and water is shoppy in El yaque so it was very hard to do any tricks for everyone. I had a really hard time landing my stuff. I ended up loosing my first heat witch was a close one.

Then in the same day in the evening they started the double elimination ladder. I cant say to much except the wind was not cooperating with me, you have 7 min to do all tricks you can and if you ride back and forward a couple of times and don’t catch a gust to be able to pull off a trick its very hard to win the heat hehe. I did what I could and I must say this was not my day of competition. I lost directly in the double ladder to so I ended up 24^th.

Next competition is Austria, this one I will skip I need to rest my foot so I don’t have more problems with it over the year. Next competition for me will be Italy in about 4-5 weeks.

And then I will be fighting again for the top.

First day I arrived I was kiting 3 sessions with my foot injury. Bad idea on the first day:) When I woke up, it was pretty dam sore next day. But still not enough to keep me off my board, and I aint kidding, the second day when I was trying to get up from bed, man it felt like had 100kg wait on my body I could not move hehe.

Lesson Learned; if you have been chilling for a while - don’t ride too hard the first days back on the water. I always say that and still I make the same mistake:) Well, it just to damn fun to kite, guess I cant help myself!.

We have already had some good days here on Coche island. Good kiting nice and sunny every day, and a bit of a suntan!!. Dam jelly fish was kissing me today while I was trying to relaunch the kite, feels a bit weird to have it all over you - they sting you bad enough to make you a bit nervous!.

Almost all pros are here now. Just to sit on the beach for a while and watch is fun to everyone is doing crazy stuff. Big unhooked kite loops with a pass. And allot of double handle passes. I hope to have some tricks up for you all on the page soon.

For you how never been there it is a very nice place. You get good kiting and you have the hotells right next to the kitespot.

There are also kickers and sliders at Coche island. be carefull with those they hurt if you fall hehe.

Nothing much happening at home right now some small fixing on my house. Ordered some new kites before I levee to Venezuela. WT2s hybrid kites very nice ones. Still prefer the C kites^^. But better depower and more flying in the jumps with the wt2. I am soo looking forward to go to the warm whether again. Its not to bad here just like 10 degrees.

I have been trying to finish my page it’s going slowly I know but it’s almost done now. Today was a long day. I went driving 1000km to pick up some kites for a friend. Not doing that again, hehe My ass is sore^^

South Africa (Cape Town)

I have herd so many things about South Africa so I had to come myself one day. Finally I am here.

The airport is very close to Cape Town city. And I am right now at Table View.
First day we didn’t had any wind or that was what we thought, when we looked out the window there was flat water and no wind, in the evening same day we talked so someone that had been kiting 10km upwind of where we were at and he was ripping on a 9m. Not always easy first time to know these things.

Next day we decided to go to the cable park if there was no wind so we did. And it was great fun, first time for me I was getting yanked off in the third corner hehe the handle just ripped out of my hands. After that I was more on the alert in the corners and later on doing some relays. In the evening my arms where so soar I could not even grab anything :)

Let’s hope for some wind next days. And I herd the water is cold, hope my 4.3 wetsuit will make it:) If not i guess i will have to stay on my board all the time. And this nerver haspens :)
